Background / History

Petrification and Revival

Before petrification, Yuzuriha attended school and frequently made small handmade objects. Taiju intended to confess his feelings to her beneath a tree, but the worldwide green light petrified humanity before he could speak 8 16.

Her statue remained in the wilderness for approximately 3,700 years, surrounded by tangled branches and vines. After reviving Taiju, Senku selected her as the next person to awaken. Taiju apologized to her statue and promised to protect her once she returned 11 12.

Taiju stopped the revival when he realized she would awaken without clothes. Li Xiang dressed the statue in a prepared fire felt grass outfit before Senku applied revival fluid. Yuzuriha awoke to familiar faces, met Li Xiang, and became the Science Kingdom’s fourth member 12.

Lion Attack and Camp Life

While catching fish with Taiju shortly after her revival, Yuzuriha and the others encountered a pride of lions. She threw stones despite her fear, but a lion nearly reached her before Li Xiang pulled her out of its path. Yuzuriha initially refused to leave Li Xiang and Taiju behind; after escaping with Senku, she stopped and insisted that they return to save them 12 13 14 15.

After Tsukasa defeated the remaining lions, Yuzuriha immobilized Li Xiang’s broken arm with an improvised splint. She subsequently stayed at camp with Li Xiang, encouraged her to rest, and worked on sewing while the men gathered construction materials. The two later shared one of the camp’s new cabins 15 16 17.

Conflict with Tsukasa

Yuzuriha accompanied Senku, Taiju, and Li Xiang to gather materials for black powder. When Tsukasa returned to kill Senku, she was distressed by Li Xiang’s apparent willingness to let him proceed. She stood in front of Senku, pleaded with him not to surrender the revival-fluid formula, and rejected the idea that he should sacrifice himself for the others 21 22 23 24.

After Tsukasa struck Senku unconscious, Yuzuriha escaped with Taiju and Li Xiang. Li Xiang restored Senku using revival fluid on the petrified tissue remaining at his neck, and Yuzuriha made a support to hold his neck steady before they continued traveling 25.

Undercover Assignment

Senku and Li Xiang sent Yuzuriha and Taiju to infiltrate Tsukasa’s camp while they traveled in the opposite direction. Yuzuriha remained worried about the pair as she departed 26.

Later, Senku and Li Xiang considered Yuzuriha and Taiju potential operatives for recruiting allies inside Tsukasa’s camp. Their inability to contact the separated allies helped prompt the decision to build telephones and a cross-regional communication network 40 50.
