Yun Qing froze on the spot, utterly bewildered.
What did any of this have to do with anything?
He had worked himself to the bone to attain his Dao, even outdone himself and scored full marks. It was one thing for Brother Huang, with his pathological obsession with being the best, not to praise him-but why did he want to scatter his ashes?
Was the Dao he had attained really that bad??
Dazed, Yun Qing lowered his head and inspected the Dao resonance surrounding him and the foundations of his Dao path.
It was Emperor Lingxiao Dao, all right. Majestic and imposing, gleaming with golden light. No matter how he looked at it, this was a perfectly proper foundation for an emperor's Dao. How had it become something deserving of having its ashes scattered in Brother Huang's mouth?
Never mind. It wasn't important. Yun Qing began looking around the Cloud Platform, making himself thoroughly at home.
Looking at the scattered Go stones all over the ground, he asked casually, "What happened to the Go board?"
Yun Huang said coldly, "My hand slipped."
Yun Qing said, "...All right, then."
An Immortal Emperor's hand had slipped. Quite spectacularly, too.
With a sweep of his sleeve, Yun Qing gathered the scattered black and white stones, righted the Go board, and set it before Yun Huang with a clunk. His four pupils blinked. "Brother Huang, still up for a game?"
Yun Huang closed his eyes again, ignoring this aggravating creature. His posture made his meaning perfectly clear: I do not wish to see you right now.
"I brought you a present," Yun Qing said, smiling as he sat opposite him and pretended not to understand.
Placating an impossible old lord? That was his specialty.
Yun Huang opened his eyes and glanced at him. "What?"
