Yun Huang’s identity as a legitimate son of the Yun Clan is a fabricated background intended to let him enter the lineage naturally and inherit its authority. In the Ancestral Shrine Forbidden Grounds, the clan gathered an Immortal Emperor’s scattered original immortal essence, vast providence, and a strand of innate origin essence accumulated over ten thousand years. This undertaking produced Yun Huang as a “child of destiny,” intended to preserve the clan’s glory and prepare it for an approaching great calamity 4.

Yun Huang later confirms that he merged with his physical body in those forbidden grounds. When Yun Qing asks whether he arrived through the Soul-Tracing Secret Rite, he neither confirms nor denies it 18.
