Xuanzang nodded. "Exactly. Where did this Banana Leaf Fan come from?"
At this, Bajie slapped his thigh. "Right! The Banana Leaf Fan! Didn't we see another one before?"
Little White Dragon looked at him. "The one Gold Horn had?"
"Exactly!" Bajie turned to Wukong. "Brother Monkey, remember the treasures those two boys brought down from Doushuai Palace? Gold Horn waved that Banana Leaf Fan a few times, and fanned up a whole mountain of fire."
Wukong nodded. "That one kindled fire, while Sister-in-law's puts it out."

Xuanzang replied, "It is possible."
Wukong rubbed his chin. "Did that old fellow give Sister-in-law hers?"
Bajie said smugly, "That must be it."
Little White Dragon, however, said, "But that doesn't make sense. If the Dao Ancestor really gave her a fan that extinguishes fire, why not give it straight to the Earth God? He's the one ordered to watch over the fire, and he's the one teaching people how to save themselves. Why take this needless extra step?"
Bajie's hand paused on the table. "True. Then was the fan stolen?"
Little White Dragon rolled his eyes. "Who could steal anything from the Dao Ancestor?"
Bajie pointed at Wukong.
