Chapters 251–275 Vol. 3 Read

Ch. 251The Blood Shadow Returns

Wang Yu encountered Ye Zhen and the Joyful Bliss Palace Woman in the Mist Sea, then avoided a fight and hurried away to escape the array. Meanwhile, Yuanming and Yuantong discussed a mysterious connection to the Temple’s tower before a blood-path cultivator attacked them.

  • Wang Yu found a mound strewn with Spider Demon Beast corpses and encountered Ye Zhen and the Joyful Bliss Palace Woman, who fled in different directions.
  • Wang Yu chose not to pursue the women and used his Breathing Technique to vanish and head toward another route out of the array.
  • Yuantong told Yuanming that the Temple’s tower and its layout felt familiar, while Yuanming’s Buddhist Prayer Beads pointed toward it.
  • A blood-colored figure emerged from the thicket and challenged Yuanming and Yuantong to fight.
  • Yuantong attacked the blood-colored figure, who summoned a humanoid made from human skin to fight him as a blood shadow lunged at Yuanming.

Ch. 252Demonic Shadows Everywhere

Zhu Wuyan trapped Yuanming and Yuantong in a blood hurricane and attacked them with demonic arts, forcing Yuanming to prepare to break his seal. Divine lightning destroyed the hurricane and wounded Zhu Wuyan, who escaped underground, while an unfamiliar old monk descended and drew the two monks’ suspicion.

  • Zhu Wuyan’s Blood-Draining Art trapped Yuanming and Yuantong in a blood-colored hurricane and made their blood boil.
  • Zhu Wuyan summoned three gray-white figures wielding Blood-Transforming Demon Sabers, and Yuanming prepared to fight while Yuantong readied a scripture page.
  • Yuanming told Yuantong to use a second-tier talisman to break the restriction and revealed he planned to release his seal if needed.
  • More than a dozen arcs of divine lightning destroyed the hurricane, struck Zhu Wuyan, and drove him to escape underground.
  • An old monk descended from the sky, and Yuanming cautiously asked who he was.

Ch. 253Third-Tier Magical Artifact

An old monk used a Third-Tier Magical Artifact to defeat Yuanming and break Yuantong’s talisman defenses, while Kang Wuhen began cultivating after taking a Human Soul Pill. Wang Yu fought through a battle between Demonic Path cultivators and demon beasts and neared the edge of the great array, as the battered Giant White-Bone Skeleton began gathering bones from fallen Black Soul Sect disciples.

  • The old monk identified Yuantong as resembling someone from his past and blasted Yuanming with his silver Short Ruler.
  • Yuantong used a Talisman Treasure against the old monk, then escaped with Yuanming using a second-tier Earth-Drilling Talisman before the old monk broke the Diamond Sutra’s restraint.
  • Kang Wuhen confirmed that the pills were Human Soul Pills, swallowed one, and began practicing the Secret Art in the black book.
  • Wang Yu killed white spiders amid a battle between Demonic Path cultivators and demon beasts, then spotted distant mountains beyond the great array’s mist.
  • The Giant White-Bone Skeleton recovered before the array diagram and summoned bones from the corpses of dead Black Soul Sect disciples.

Ch. 254The Blood Moon Appeared

After escaping the Mist Sea, Wang Yu watched the great array collapse and discovered that its destruction had triggered a change in the moon above Jialan Temple's ruins. He fled the area, but Ye Zhen and two women pursued him on a Giant Emerald Leaf, and he prepared for a possible confrontation.

  • The Black Soul Sect's Golden Core Ancestor restored the giant skeleton and used four magical artifacts to break the array's silver Light Screen and attack its pillar.
  • Wang Yu escaped the Mist Sea as the array collapsed, then fled when a column of black mist rose from the ruins.
  • Seven hidden chambers revealed blood-red array diagrams that sent beams into the moon, shattering the Blood-red Crescent Moon and covering the ruins with crimson curtains.
  • Wang Yu flew more than thirty li away before noticing that Ye Zhen, the Joyful Bliss Palace Woman, and a veiled woman were pursuing him on a Giant Emerald Leaf.
  • Wang Yu confirmed that the blood origin mushroom remained in his Storage Bag and drew his Blue-Red Long Saber as he considered the approaching women.

Ch. 255Bewitching Arts and Wagers

Wang Yu confronted Bi Xinxiu, Ye Zhen, and the Joyful Bliss Palace Woman, resisting Bi Xinxiu’s Bewitching Arts with his heightened mental power. Rather than fight, Bi Xinxiu proposed a wager over their Secret Realm gains, and Wang Yu demanded that the other two women’s Storage Bags be included as stakes.

  • The three women ambushed Wang Yu with pink mist and strange snakes, while Bi Xinxiu used her allure to try to bewitch him.
  • Wang Yu resisted Bi Xinxiu’s Bewitching Power Secret Art, identified himself as Wan Shan of the Four Symbols Sect, and prepared to fight.
  • Bi Xinxiu claimed her group could force Wang Yu to retreat but offered a wager instead of a battle.
  • Bi Xinxiu wagered her Storage Bags against Wang Yu’s on whether he could resist her full-power Bewitching Dao Secret Art.
  • Wang Yu rejected the proposed stakes and demanded that Ye Zhen and the Joyful Bliss Palace Woman wager their Storage Bags too.

Ch. 256Her true face revealed

Wang Yu and Bi Xinxiu agreed to wager their Storage Bags on whether her Bewitching Art could make him leave a circle. After both prepared protections for the contest, Bi Xinxiu removed her veil and revealed her stunning face.

  • Bi Xinxiu persuaded Ye Zhen and the other woman to stake their Storage Bags by promising compensation, Night-Phase Moth powder, and help obtaining a Foundation Establishment Pill.
  • Bi Xinxiu proposed a contest in which Wang Yu would lose if her Bewitching Art made him step outside a circle before one stick of incense burned out, and Wang Yu accepted.
  • Wang Yu and Bi Xinxiu descended to a hilltop, where Wang Yu drew a circle and Bi Xinxiu raised an Isolation Talisman over the area.
  • Wang Yu tested the Light Screen and set up three Small Blue Banners to form an Illusion Formation, while Bi Xinxiu prepared incense and fastened golden bells to her wrists and ankles.
  • Bi Xinxiu removed her veil and revealed an extraordinarily beautiful face.

Ch. 257Making a Clean Getaway

Wang Yu escaped Bi Xinxiu’s bewitching dance and evaded pursuit after deciding not to continue their wager. Outside the Jialan Secret Realm, the Golden Core Ancestors learned that Yuanming had likely died, while the old monk brought Kang Wuhen an unconscious outsider for a possible blood sacrifice.

  • Wang Yu broke through the ground with a Yellow Talisman and escaped after Bi Xinxiu’s Heavenly Fox Dance nearly overwhelmed him.
  • Bi Xinxiu failed to follow Wang Yu through the earth, destroyed the Water-Avoidance Banners, and searched for him as he slipped away using birds as decoys.
  • Guangfa discovered that Yuanming’s Soul Tablet had cracked, and the Golden Core Ancestors discussed the dangers inside the Jialan Secret Realm.
  • The old monk brought an unconscious, charred young monk to Kang Wuhen, intending to reserve his essence blood for opening the Treasure Vault’s gate.

Ch. 258Dialogue

Kang Wuhen prepared to break the Treasure Vault Gate’s Restrictive Seal and subdue the Brahma Body Dharma Form the next day. The old monk revealed his connection to a mutilated spider-like spirit and to Yuantong, while promising to help the spirit recover its Demon Core.

  • Kang Wuhen learned that the Treasure Vault Gate had a Restrictive Seal and planned to use the next day to subdue the Brahma Body Dharma Form and retrieve the vault’s treasures.
  • The old monk carried the unconscious Yuantong away, studied a portrait of a young scholar who looked like Yuantong, and spoke with a blurry black figure.
  • The black figure said a Foundation Establishment cultivator with a Third-Tier Magical Artifact had mutilated him, and the old monk offered him blood food and asked him to restore his limbs before tomorrow.
  • The black figure tried to possess Yuantong but was repelled by golden spirit inscriptions, then returned to his ruined body as a Headless Spider phantom.
  • The old monk explained that the black figure was a remnant soul of High Person Jialan’s spirit pet and promised to help it obtain its Demon Core after they opened Jialan’s Treasure Vault Gate.

Ch. 259The Stone's Strange Transformation

An old monk and an indistinct black figure prepared to open the treasure vault, while the Demonic Path disciples planned to break the Temple ruins’ array. Wang Yu escaped toward the Secret Realm’s edge and discovered that the strange stone he had picked up resisted both force and divine sense.

  • The old monk told the indistinct black figure that Kang Wuhen had refined the other reincarnations’ spirit soul auras, and said they could sacrifice the little monk if opening the treasure vault failed again.
  • The Giant White-Bone Skeleton ordered the Demonic Path disciples and the fatty surnamed Pei to help him break the Magic Array the next day, using a third-tier Treasure Artifact projection.
  • Wang Yu sent out birds carrying essence blood to confuse his pursuers, then flew toward the edge of the Secret Realm’s central region on his Bone Boat.
  • A milky-white stone in Wang Yu’s Storage Bag began glowing red and heating up before turning cold again.
  • Wang Yu squeezed the stone hard enough to leave fingerprints, but it quickly returned to normal, and his divine sense could not penetrate it.

Ch. 260Secret Method and Buddha Body

Wang Yu secured the strange stone and rested after escaping the Secret Realm, while Kang Wuhen approached the Buddha Body on the High Tower's top floor to subdue it with a secret method. As Demonic Path forces battered the Temple's protective array outside, Kang Wuhen's spell seals began entering the Buddha Body.

  • Wang Yu sealed the strange stone in an Iron Box with talismans, then carved a cave and slept after flying toward the Secret Realm's outskirts.
  • Kang Wuhen reached the High Tower's highest floor with the old monk and found Luo Hao's crushed corpse before the Buddha Body.
  • Kang Wuhen resolved to subdue the Buddha Body and reclaim the vault's treasures, encouraged by the old monk's promise of power.
  • A thunderous shock shook the High Tower as Demonic Path forces unleashed third-tier power against the Blood-Red Curtain, but the old monk confirmed the array still held.
  • Kang Wuhen used his recovered secret method to cloak himself in grayish-white talisman inscriptions, then sent spell seals into the Buddha Body.

Ch. 261Kang Wuhen's death

Kang Wuhen tried to claim the short-haired Buddha Body but was killed when it turned on him. The old monk used Kang Wuhen’s and Yuantong’s blood, along with preserved essence blood, to bind the Buddha Body, while the Black Iron Box sent a White Light Orb racing toward Wang Yu.

  • Kang Wuhen used his essence blood to make the short-haired Buddha Body call him Master, but the Buddha Body crushed Kang Wuhen to death.
  • The old monk restrained the Buddha Body with talisman chains, then used Kang Wuhen’s blood to restore them when the Buddha Body broke free.
  • The old monk tore off Yuantong’s arm and used his blood arrows to weaken the Buddha Body’s resistance.
  • The old monk released preserved essence blood from a black vial, enlarging the symbol on the Buddha Body’s brow until it stopped struggling.
  • Wang Yu’s Black Iron Box opened, and its White Light Orb flew away; Wang Yu used Wind-Fire Wheel to catch it in midair.

Ch. 262Full Moon

Wang Yu awakened a mysterious translucent figure who opened the bronze door and destroyed the headless spider phantom with a Full Moon treasure. The figure then attacked the fleeing Demonic Path forces, while Heavenly Bone Ancestor escaped destruction by sending an eyeball underground.

  • A translucent figure emerged from the shattered sphere, took Wang Yu through a Teleportation Array, and said he would end Jialan’s plan.
  • The figure opened the bronze door and sent Wang Yu outside, where an old monk held the badly wounded Yuantong beside a shadowy black figure.
  • The black figure revealed itself as a headless spider phantom and fled, but the figure summoned a Full Moon that blasted it into black vapor.
  • Heavenly Bone Ancestor saw the Full Moon destroy the spider phantom and ordered the Demonic Path forces to retreat.
  • The figure fired the Full Moon at Heavenly Bone Ancestor, who was struck despite using his artifacts and a talisman to flee.
  • Heavenly Bone Ancestor’s skeleton body exploded, but an eyeball wrapped in black vapor escaped into the ground.

Ch. 263The Moon-Refining Mirror

Gong Yue revealed that the old monk was not a true reincarnation of High Person Jialan and exposed how he had prolonged his life by conspiring against other reincarnations. Gong Yue then revealed himself as the spirit of the Moon-Refining Mirror, awakening the old monk’s memories.

  • Gong Yue told the old monk that Jialan’s essence had split into failed reincarnations and challenged him to explain what had happened to the fifth Jialan Key.
  • Gong Yue pulled the fifth Jialan Key from Yuantong’s chest and explained that Jialan’s arrangements had placed it inside each new reincarnation before it later emerged.
  • Gong Yue recounted how the old monk had joined forces with Jialan’s spirit pet, turned a later reincarnation into a human puppet, and helped kill the third reincarnation.
  • Gong Yue summoned the full moon into the tower, where it transformed into the Moon-Refining Mirror.
  • The old monk recognized the mirror and identified Gong Yue as its artifact spirit, while the mirror’s silver light filled the tower.

Ch. 264One Request

Gong Yue revealed that the Treasure Vault was empty and healed Yuantong, then offered to grant one request on Jialan's behalf. The old monk and Yuantong each requested a treasure, but Gong Yue said only one of them could receive it and asked who would withdraw.

  • Gong Yue explained that he had only been ordered to observe Jialan's reincarnation attempt, then made his body solid with the Moon-Refining Mirror.
  • Gong Yue revealed that the Treasure Vault's promised treasures were false memories, leaving the old monk devastated by the empty shelves.
  • Gong Yue healed Yuantong's wounds and offered to grant him one request on Jialan's behalf.
  • The old monk requested a life-extending pill, while Yuantong requested a Buddha bone Sarira.
  • Gong Yue produced both requested treasures but said he could fulfill only one request, leaving the old monk and Yuantong to decide who would withdraw.

Ch. 265One Left Alive

Gong Yue took the Thunderbolt Ruler and the Buddha Body, sealed the tower floor, and left Yuantong, the old monk, and Wang Yu trapped together while they competed for his single granted request. Yuantong urged Wang Yu to help kill the old monk, who threatened them both as the confrontation began.

  • Yuantong refused to trade the Buddha Body Sarira for the old monk’s Thunderbolt Ruler and medicinal pills.
  • Gong Yue said only the first person to find him and state a request after an incense stick would receive it, then took the Thunderbolt Ruler.
  • Gong Yue told Wang Yu he had to survive until his return, sealed the tower floor, and took the Buddha Body with him.
  • Yuantong asked Wang Yu to join forces against the old monk in exchange for the Buddha Body Sarira.
  • The old monk threatened to kill Wang Yu and Yuantong, whether or not they joined forces.

Ch. 266Golden Body and Lightning Arts

Wang Yu and Yuantong fought the old monk, who used lightning magic and deceptive duplicates to withstand their attacks. The chapter ended with Yuantong charred and motionless while the old monk reassembled himself unharmed.

  • Wang Yu invoked Overclocking as Yuantong charged the old monk with his Golden Body Arhat Art.
  • The old monk shattered Yuantong's lightning net and golden attacks, then struck him with a Tongue Blade that Yuantong broke after pulling it from his brow.
  • Yuantong warned Wang Yu about the old monk's sinister magical artifacts and attacked again, but the old monk created seven figures that blasted him with lightning.
  • Wang Yu used Draw-Cutting Art to behead one of the old monk's figures, but the monk turned into black mist and reassembled himself.
  • Yuantong lay charred and motionless on the floor as the old monk stared up at Wang Yu.

Ch. 267Layered Flame Veil

Wang Yu survived the old monk’s devastating Triple Thunderstrike by combining a Lightning-Attribute Mechanism Puppet with the layered Flame Veil of his Parent-Child Floating Mirror. The old monk’s attack destroyed the puppet and two layers of Wang Yu’s defense, but the third layer endured, leaving Wang Yu poised to counterattack.

  • The old monk summoned seven phantom figures and unleashed a powerful Thunder Method at Wang Yu.
  • Wang Yu released his Mechanism Puppet Wolf, which absorbed the first dozen lightning arcs before its horn exploded and its body shattered.
  • Wang Yu’s first Flame Veil began to fail under the remaining lightning, so he formed a three-layered barrier with the Parent-Child Floating Mirror.
  • The old monk’s azure cone-shaped Magical Artifact destroyed the outer barrier, and the lightning shattered the second layer before dissipating against the third.
  • Wang Yu’s final barrier survived, astonishing the old monk, and Wang Yu sent three masses of crimson flame circling around him.

Ch. 268The Floating Mirrors' Might

Wang Yu fought the old monk, whose Human Puppet Secret Method let him attack with hidden Spell-Breaking crystal threads. After using a Thunder Pearl as a distraction, Wang Yu revealed three strange cannon-like artifacts and fired at the old monk while a golden figure restrained him.

  • The old monk unleashed black and crystal-clear threads, and Wang Yu dodged most of the attack but suffered a freezing wound in his shoulder.
  • The old monk formed an enormous web of crystal threads that threatened to cover the floor, while Wang Yu recalled his mirrors and sent fireballs toward him.
  • A Black Orb concealed among the fireballs exploded into a Thunderball, engulfing the old monk in lightning.
  • Wang Yu revealed three unfamiliar cannon-like artifacts as the old monk laughed that lightning could not kill his human puppet body.
  • A golden figure emerged from the lightning and restrained the old monk while Wang Yu's three artifacts fired golden streaks at him.

Ch. 269Joining Forces to Slay the Enemy

Wang Yu and Yuantong joined forces to destroy the old monk’s Soul Case and end his centuries-long survival in the Jialan Secret Realm. With the old monk dead, Wang Yu treated his injuries and exhausted Dharma Power while Yuantong healed his wounds.

  • The old monk’s human puppet body was pierced by Wang Yu’s golden attacks, and Yuantong released him after being wounded in the abdomen.
  • Yuantong used a Buddhist Prayer Bead to immobilize the puppet’s scattered body and reveal the old monk’s miniature black Soul Case.
  • The old monk fled with Thunder Escape Technique, but Wang Yu predicted his movements and struck the Soul Case with three successive blasts from the Floating Cannons.
  • The miniature black cube shattered, and the old monk’s green soul flame vanished, causing the mesh and puppet fragments to burn away.
  • Wang Yu took recovery medicine and used talismans to heal his shoulder while Yuantong treated his abdomen with a green leaf.

Ch. 270The Young Beast

After Wang Yu and Yuantong defeated the human puppet, Gong Yue returned to reward them and answer their questions. He sent them out of the Secret Realm, leaving the fate of the realm and Jialan mysterious.

  • Wang Yu collected fragments of the human puppet’s second-tier Soul Case and found a scorched medicine bottle, while Gong Yue explained that the puppet and its possessions had been burned away.
  • Gong Yue gave Wang Yu a Green Wind Wolf cub with rare bloodline potential and a Spirit Beast Bag.
  • Gong Yue gave Yuantong the Buddha Body Sarira, which Yuantong swallowed.
  • Yuantong asked what would happen to the Secret Realm, and Gong Yue said it was free for others to use and that he had hidden the fifth key there.
  • Wang Yu asked whether Jialan was still alive, and Gong Yue replied that Jialan was in this world yet not in this world.
  • Gong Yue activated a formation that transported Wang Yu and Yuantong away from the Secret Realm.

Ch. 271Red Glow

After Gong Yue carried the High Tower away and the Temple ruins’ restrictions vanished, Wang Yu escaped and later settled in a concealed forest hollow with the Green Wind Wolf cub. He discovered the cub’s unusual cold spell and examined the immense Spirit Beast Bag Gong Yue had given him, whose inscription, “Red Glow,” left him uneasy.

  • Wang Yu watched the High Tower tear through the sky and disappear, then left the ruins aboard his Bone Boat after noticing the blood-colored curtain was gone.
  • Yuantong watched the tower vanish from another part of the ruins and hurried away, while the Blue-Armored Woman began to wake and the Yellow-Robed Palace-Dressed Woman stared at the departing tower.
  • Demonic Path disciples arrived to plunder the ruins, and the Four Sects’ disciples appeared a day later and resumed fighting them.
  • Wang Yu tested the Green Wind Wolf cub’s spell and saw it extinguish his crimson flame with icy wind before he put it into the Spirit Beast Bag.
  • Wang Yu admired the bag’s enormous capacity, wondered why Gong Yue had given it to him, and read the words “Red Glow” inscribed on its bottom.

Ch. 272An obstacle along the way

Wang Yu inspected the pill and Parent-Child Floating Mirror set he had acquired, then waited out the remaining days in the Jialan Secret Realm until his exit talisman activated. On his way to the exit, he spotted Zhu Wuyan and two hidden men preparing an ambush.

  • Wang Yu examined the pitch-black pill but put it away rather than risk poisoning himself.
  • Wang Yu checked the Parent-Child Floating Mirror set and found its thunder spirit stones nearly depleted and several components worn.
  • Wang Yu hid in changing locations and released birds carrying bottles of his essence blood until his exit talisman appeared.
  • Wang Yu followed the talisman's arrow toward the exit, avoiding other cultivators on the way.
  • Wang Yu halted his Bone Boat after detecting a concealed restriction and recognized Zhu Wuyan among the ambushers.

Ch. 273Departure

Wang Yu escaped Zhu Wuyan without a fight and continued toward the Secret Realm’s exit, while Zhu Wuyan agreed to leave with Heavenly Bone Ancestor. Wang Yu reached the exit and flew out of the Secret Realm.

  • Wang Yu prepared to fight Zhu Wuyan but flew around him when Zhu Wuyan made no move to attack.
  • Heavenly Bone Ancestor revealed that he intended to take Zhu Wuyan to the Black Soul Sect as his fourth direct disciple.
  • Wang Yu activated Overclocking mode, confirmed that Zhu Wuyan was not following him, and resumed his journey.
  • Heavenly Bone Ancestor explained that he had tracked Wang Yu through the Blood-Transforming Demon Saber Talisman Treasure he carried.
  • Wang Yu reached the exit guarded by Thousand Bamboo Sect puppets, whose guards let him pass after his Inner Disciple Token flashed, and he flew into the black hole.

Ch. 274Uncle Jin

Wang Yu returned from the Jialan Secret Realm and went to redeem his merit points, drawing notice for his survival and his deeds in the Medicine Garden Battle. He began handing in Demonic Path Identity Tokens, where he recognized an elder named Jin, but hesitated after noticing the monk beside him.

  • Wang Yu emerged from the Jialan Secret Realm, and the Foundation Establishment cultivators remarked on his survival and his use of the Bone Boat.
  • Wang Yu landed in the Four Sects' camp, stored the Bone Boat, and headed to the building where he could redeem merit points.
  • Two Thousand Bamboo Sect disciples recognized Wang Yu from the Medicine Garden Battle, and he asked whether they had seen Senior Brother Tianjunzi again.
  • Wang Yu entered the building and offered to hand in Demonic Path Identity Tokens to the Vajra Temple monk and the black-armored elder.
  • The black-armored elder recognized Wang Yu as the disciple Uncle Lihuo had selected, introduced himself as Jin, and asked him to produce the tokens.
  • Wang Yu hesitated after glancing at the monk beside Jin.

Ch. 275The key reappears

Wang Yu submitted tokens from three Demonic Path true disciples, earning over four hundred temporary merit points and first place in the rankings. After learning about the Fifth Jialan Key, Tianjunzi’s grave injuries, and the Four Sects’ losses, Wang Yu was told that Ximen Mei was waiting for him aboard the sect ancestor’s Magical Ship.

  • Wang Yu submitted a dozen Demonic Path disciple tokens, including three true disciple tokens, and the Black-Armored Man and Monk Zhifa provisionally placed him first with over four hundred merit points.
  • News of Wang Yu’s haul spread through the camp, and he slept for a day before waking to sort through his spoils.
  • Wan Shan told Wang Yu that a Setting Sun Sect disciple had obtained the Fifth Jialan Key, which had supposedly fallen from the sky onto the disciple’s head.
  • Wan Shan reported that Tianjunzi had escaped the Demonic Path Foundation Establishment cultivator with every meridian severed, and that fewer than thirty percent of the Four Sects’ disciples had returned.
  • Wan Shan told Wang Yu that the Four Sects had increased the exchange treasures by thirty percent and that Ximen Mei had asked him to meet her aboard the sect ancestor’s Magical Ship.
