Su Mo frowned, immediately thinking that something seemed to have gone wrong with the "fear" thought of his Seven Thoughts.
Before Su Mo could examine just what had gone wrong with his "fear" thought, the Phoenix Woman stared at him and continued, "Well?"
"You protect me for a while, and I give you a Phoenix Feather?"
Su Mo rolled his eyes, glanced at her, and asked in puzzlement, "Why do you need me to protect you?"
Hearing Su Mo's question, the Phoenix Woman hesitated, then studied him carefully. "Have you heard of a phoenix's nirvana?"
Su Mo nodded at her words, but did not understand why she had brought it up.
The Phoenix Woman looked deeply at Su Mo, a profoundly complicated look flashing across her face. Only after pondering for a long while did she speak.
"I'm currently in my nirvana period..."
"What does that have to do with needing me to protect you?" Su Mo asked.
The Phoenix Woman glared at Su Mo, clearly displeased that he had interrupted her.
Sighing, the Phoenix Woman sat cross-legged on the ground and glanced at Su Mo. She could tell that he was not some utterly wicked villain; otherwise, she would not have dared tell him any of this.
He was a perfectly decent person, if only he hadn't been given a mouth...
Thinking that Su Mo had indeed already saved her life, the Phoenix Woman hesitated before finally saying:
"Every generation of the Phoenix Race undergoes nirvana once. During nirvana, a member of the Phoenix Race's cultivation falls, and they undergo a trial of bathing in fire..."
Su Mo froze. "Is that why you needed Frost? You wanted to use Frost to suppress the trial of bathing in fire?"
The Phoenix Woman sighed and nodded, but then shook her head.
