Su Mo shattered the Immortal Gate, reached the Immortal Domain, and learned that the predecessors who cleared the Immortal Path had sacrificed themselves for him. There, he recovered Old Codger’s Sacred Artifact and entered Immortal Emperor Rouyun’s Heart Tree, where he grew close to the disguised Wenge as they passed its trials.

• Su Mo reached Sagehood, gathered the Sages’ and Saint Beasts’ power, and shattered the Immortal Gate, severing the Immortal Domain’s control over the mortal world.
• Su Mo began ascending the Immortal Path, collected the predecessors’ remains, and discovered that their lingering obsessions had sacrificed themselves to clear the dangers for him.
• Su Mo vowed to bring the predecessors to Ascend to Immortality and entered Piaomiao Immortal Domain, where he planted their ashes as a seed before setting off with the Brush of All Living Beings.
• Su Mo followed the Brush of All Living Beings into the Ancestral Image World and retrieved Old Codger’s Sacred Artifact from beneath Rouyun’s Heart Tree.
• Su Mo entered the Heart Tree’s trial, helped its Tree Spirits, and met Wenge, who saw through his false identity as a Heavenly Secrets Grotto-Heaven disciple.
• Su Mo and the disguised Wenge completed successive trials together, grew familiar, and reached a stele bearing the words “The bond of the Heart Tree.”

Su Mo uncovered Rouyun’s plea to end the Heart Tree’s endless reincarnation, but chose to seek another way rather than kill her. Unable to create avatars, he went to the Immortal Furnace for treatment, where he drew the elders’ attention and secretly helped Bai Zhi.

• Su Mo discovered that Rouyun’s inheritance was sustaining the Tree Spirits’ endless reincarnation, learned they had shared thousands of journeys, and left without killing her.
• After reflecting on his master’s explanation of the Twin Perching pill, Su Mo returned to Rouyun and proposed using an Alchemical Art to rewrite the cycle by planting karma, but admitted he could not create avatars.
• Su Mo took the blind child Xuanji with him to the Immortal Furnace Grotto-Heaven, where he stabilized the poisoned antlered girl Bai Zhi with Giant God Blood before an Old Madman abducted him.
• The Old Madman examined Su Mo’s blood and inability to form incarnations, agreed to let him enter the Immortal Furnace, and arranged to study him in exchange for a drop of heart’s blood every six months.
• At the Immortal Furnace, Su Mo revived a leaf and revealed exceptional power over plants and trees, prompting the elders to compete over which branch would claim him.
• The granny tested Su Mo with the Destiny Cup, whose peach-blossom vision revealed his alchemical talent, and Canye arranged for him to stay on Central Peak while the elders instructed him.
• Su Mo found Bai Zhi suffering in her cave and used Giant God Blood to weaken her poison, while Granny Su Zhan and Can Ye later recognized that someone had helped her.
• Xuanji returned after the female disciples pinched his cheeks, and Su Mo and the Brush of All Living Beings pretended they had not heard his calls for rescue.

Su Mo entered the Immortal Furnace’s Ancestral Grounds to seek alchemical intent and discovered that it lay within his dan chu. After Senior Sister Rou'er was abducted and died despite his efforts, Su Mo took up her burden and fought the invaders threatening the Ancestral Image World.

• Suzhan brought Su Mo and Bai Zhi to the Immortal Furnace’s Ancestral Grounds, where Su Mo began seeking alchemical intent and learned about the Wonders.
• Su Mo realized his alchemical intent was his dan chu during the New Year celebration, then used a paper flower’s karma to summon the missing Senior Sister Rou'er back through a rift.
• Su Mo carried Senior Sister Rou'er back wounded, but she died after asking him to protect the trapped disciples and lead them out.
• Seven banners spread azure mist through the Ancestral Image World, letting black figures drain disciples’ power of origin as the survivors retreated to their Ancestral Courtyards.
• Su Mo imprisoned the Immortal Furnace disciples in the Ancestral Courtyard for their safety, then left with the Book of Life and Death and declared he would fight through slaughter.
• Su Mo used the Book of Life and Death, the Evil-Slaying Sword, and Mortal Realm Purgatory to kill the black figures attacking the grounds.
• Survivors told Hong Xia and Wen Ge that a white-haired man in bloodstained robes had slain the attackers, and they recognized him as Su Mo.

Su Mo stopped the Seven-Faced Banner from completing its destruction of the Ancestral Grounds, but his divine soul was left shattered and he learned that he had little time to live. As his allies searched for a cure in Cold Azure Cave Heaven, the Old Madman uncovered a vision of a white-robed man beside a river and graves.

• Su Mo learned that Nameless belonged to the taboo Xu Tribe, named him Su Jingyan, and fought him until an unknown attacker struck Su Jingyan down.
• Su Mo drove away the Seven-Faced Banners with Punishment One, then Big Strong swallowed the last Banner and returned to carry the injured Su Mo out of the Ancestral Image World.
• The White-Haired Elder told Su Mo that the Xu Tribe had sought to expose a lie and that Rouyun believed she had trapped herself in reincarnation.
• The Nine-Tailed Immortal Fox took Su Mo to Cold Azure Cave Heaven, where its chill stabilized his shattered divine soul, and asked him to help find her missing elder sister.
• Su Mo learned from the Old Madman that he might have only two years to live, and he concluded that he had died in the Fallen Leaf Tribulation despite the Divine Maiden's intervention.
• Su Mo remained in Cold Azure as his strength faded, while Granny Su Zhan, Bai Zhi, and Little Xuanji stayed with him and the Old Madman searched for a cure.
• The Old Madman examined Su Mo's heart's blood, broke through a taboo force within it, and saw a white-robed man beside a river with graves behind him.
