As the eastern sky began to pale, Chen Cang set out from the courtyard.
In his experience, getting certified was bound to be a tedious affair. The sooner he arrived, the sooner he could finish.
For that reason, he went alone, without even bringing Medusa or Xiao Yi Xian.
After leaving the courtyard and walking briskly for over ten minutes, Chen Cang finally stopped outside an ancient stone tower in Sacred Pill City's outer region. This was the outer region's testing site, also known as the Pill Tower Branch.
Even though it was only a branch, its scale rivaled some of the Alchemist Guilds Chen Cang had happened upon during his travels. Its grounds were vast, and the towering stone structure was magnificent.
Chen Cang had arrived very early-it could hardly even be called dawn yet-but countless others had shared his determination to get ahead. When he reached the stone tower, innumerable alchemists were already coming and going, their noisy chatter spreading in waves.
Entering the stone tower and arriving at the designated assessment area, Chen Cang was rather speechless at the long queue that had already formed.
These people were way too damn competitive!
If he obediently stood in line, he might not get his turn even after an entire day. He would probably be waiting until the dead of night...
"You look rather unfamiliar, young friend. I know most of the outstanding young people in the Pill Region. You aren't from here, are you?"
Just as Chen Cang was considering how to find a back door, a hearty voice suddenly came from ahead and to his side.
Chen Cang looked up and saw a tall, straight-backed man who appeared to be around thirty. He wore alchemist robes, with a conspicuous badge pinned to his chest.
