Gu Changqing’s wine-fueled sword Dao astonished the Interception Sect, advanced Tongtian and other cultivators, and drew the attention of Xihe and Changxi. After surviving an assassination attempt and receiving the Water-Fire Gourd, Gu Changqing’s story left him asleep on Golden Ao Island as Xihe and Changxi arrived seeking the Wine Sword Immortal’s help with their arranged marriage.

• Gu Changqing’s drunken sword display overwhelmed Qiu Shou Xian, sparked Tongtian’s Sword Dao enlightenment, and caused the disciples’ swords to pay homage to the sect.
• After sleeping for a thousand years, Gu Changqing received the Purple-Green Nine Heavens Sword and later unleashed a slash that split the East Sea, frightening Dragon King Ao Guang.
• Gu Changqing visited Xihe and Changxi on the Taiyin Star, where his wine revealed the Great Dao of Wine and helped the sisters advance their cultivation before he left with Moon Laurel Blossoms.

Gu Changqing’s rise as the Wine Sword Immortal brought him into conflict with the Demon Court and the Chan Sect, while he took Ji Ren as his disciple. When the Demon Race began killing humans to forge a Witch-Slaying Sword, Gu Changqing set out to protect humanity and confronted the demon army.

• Gu Changqing warned Xihe and Changxi that the Demon Race and Witch Clan would vanish into ancient texts, and the sisters resolved to reject Di Jun’s heavenly marriage.
• Tongtian made Gu Changqing a Personal Disciple after his sword intent drove Di Jun and Taiyi from Golden Ao Island, and Di Jun chose Qin Yuan as his bride instead.
• At Di Jun and Qin Yuan’s wedding, Gu Changqing defeated the Twelve Golden Immortals with his Myriad Swords Saint Art and later reached an unprecedented twelfth-grade Great Dao Golden Lotus.

Gu Changqing saved the humans from the Demon Court, helped bring the Witch-Demon War to a halt, and later freed the Witch Clan from Hongjun’s suppression. He gave Houtu the Human Book in exchange for Pangu Heart Blood, which he planned to brew into wine.

• Gu Changqing arrived among the humans, rejected Bai Ze’s invitation to the Demon Court, and killed hundreds of thousands of demons with a sword strike.
• After defeating Ghost Chariot and injuring the Demon Saints, Gu Changqing revealed the Demon Court’s plan to forge the Witch-Slaying Sword from human blood and qi.
• Gu Changqing called on Tongtian’s swords to slaughter millions of demons, shattered the Demon Court, and fought Taiyi until Tongtian intervened.

• Gu Changqing rejected Hongjun’s offer to become his disciple, then transformed after mixing Pangu Heart Blood into his wine.
• Gu Changqing went to the Fire Cloud Palace, healed Hong Yun with wine, and defeated Di Jun with his completed sword art.
