Du Yu fought Mo Lihai at the Southern Heavenly Gate, but the Heavenly Court’s identity check exposed him as a mortal Lonely Ghost and the Four Heavenly Kings moved to arrest him. As Yingning’s brush neared breaking, Du Yu called for help, and several unexpected figures arrived, recognizing him by different names.

• Du Yu and Mo Lihai sparred, but Mo Lihai’s attacks forced Yingning to protect Du Yu and nearly drove her to strike back lethally.
• Mo Lihai summoned the other Three Heavenly Kings, and they asked Du Yu to scan a QR code to verify his identity.
• The scan listed Du Yu as a mortal Lonely Ghost with no position, so the Four Heavenly Kings declared they would apprehend him.
• Yingning fought the Four Heavenly Kings while Du Yu tried to reach the Southern Heavenly Gate, but their umbrella blocked the entrance and the battle cracked her brush.

• Dong Qianqiu returned to the Bureau, reunited with Xiao Qi and Du Yu, and offered to awaken the nine Voice Transmitters’ abilities.
• Dong Qianqiu apologized to Zhan Qisheng, and Du Yu helped smooth over their past conflict.

• Wazhang told Du Yu that he and He Suoyi determined each other’s fates and that Du Yu could end their bond by quitting as an Operator, but Du Yu chose to focus on the exchange gathering.

• Chada brought the group to Lizzie Williams’s house and offered to sell her information about her husband, the royal physician John Williams.
• Lizzie hesitated over Chada’s fifty-pence offer, so Du Yu bluntly urged her to put the money down and hear the information first.

Chada led them to a murder scene, where they discovered that Lizzie, not Doctor John, stood over a bloodied victim with a scalpel.
