"It's only human nature." Tang Yan waved a hand to show he did not mind.
After a moment's thought, Old Sun let it go and asked directly, "What did you want to see me about?"
Tang Yan cut straight to the point. "I have a faction called Reach the Summit. We have some talented Alchemy Masters, but they lack guidance from a renowned teacher. I'd like to invite you to become their chief instructor."
Over the years, Old Sun had concealed his identity and wandered from place to place. He had received invitations from quite a few alchemy organizations along the way, but had turned them all down.
A high-ranking Alchemy Master would not readily let himself be recruited.
Yet this time, for once, he felt no resistance.
"Young Master Tang, your alchemy skills are hardly poor. Why entrust the task to someone else?" Old Sun asked mildly.
"I'm still a long way from your level, Senior!" Tang Yan offered him a lofty compliment.
Old Sun shook his head and politely declined. "Rather than be at someone else's beck and call, wouldn't I be freer on my own?"
"I have Spirit Baleful Orchid."
Tang Yan's casually spoken words struck Old Sun's heart like a heavy hammer.
He had searched desperately for six years without hearing any news of Spirit Baleful Orchid. The longer it dragged on, the fainter his hopes grew. Hatred alone had sustained his search.
Now, suddenly hearing news of Spirit Baleful Orchid, Old Sun was overcome with excitement.
He was like a traveler in the desert who suddenly spotted a lake just as he was about to die of thirst. No words could describe what he felt!
Only after a long while did Old Sun ask in a trembling voice, "Is that true?"
