Ouyang lay in his chair, sleeping soundly, while Bai Feiyu sat in the tree, gazing blankly at the distant statue of Li Taibai.
The scent of pine incense drifted all the way over from afar. Its faint fragrance lingered around his nose, making him a little drowsy.
Bai Feiyu had studied the map before him over and over. With something this straightforward, countless cultivators must have seen it over the millions of years.
They must also have searched again and again, following this map.
But it took no thought to know they would find nothing, because the direction the map pointed in seemed to lead around in a great circle before returning to Chaoge City.
This map merely recorded the route Li Taibai and Ouyezi had taken on their ten-thousand-mile journey.
His two dear friends, Ouyezi and Ou Yezi.
The two had shared one body, yet each had offered him a different kind of salvation.
One had helped him find himself again; the other, when he hovered between life and death, had sacrificed himself to the sword, bringing his Sword Immortal Dao fruit to fruition.
How could he, Li Taibai, possibly forget? He was afraid of forgetting, too.
And so he had left this indestructible map in Chaoge City. As long as Chaoge City endured, this map would never disappear.
And only he could understand this map-or rather, only three people could.
Bai Feiyu looked at Azure Bird Diao Mao, who was likewise gazing into the distance in a daze. He reached out to stroke the bird's feathers and said softly, "Did you see it too, Ou Yezi?"
Azure Bird Diao Mao withdrew his gaze and tilted his head at Bai Feiyu, then suddenly began singing in a peculiar tone, "Take another look, one more look, and it'll ex~plode~"
