• Cui Hao recalled that Master had privately offered him the Sect Leader position, then worried that he could not discuss it with the others without causing trouble.
• Li Xingtian explained that Chen Baiqing had asked him to watch for signs of Master’s worries, so he was rereading material about the Great Calamity.
• Li Xingtian said Cui Hao was the only suitable heir to the Sect, and Cui Hao suspected that Master was speaking through him.
• Cui Hao found Chen Baiqing reading by the Deep Pool and asked whether she sensed anything wrong with Master.
• Cui Hao claimed Li Xingtian thought Master might be injured, then told Chen Baiqing she could keep her thoughts to herself.

Chu Xingchen gathered the sect and announced that everyone would travel together to search for scattered authority, beginning in the Black Tortoise Kingdom. Yuankong then asked what the sect was called, prompting Chu Xingchen to think of a name.

• Cui Hao watched Chu Xingchen closely during a peaceful gathering but noticed nothing unusual about his master.
• Over the following weeks, Qian Qing practiced boxing at the Deep Pool while Yuankong swept the sect entrance and sometimes received her help.
• Chu Xingchen summoned everyone at Ten Thousand Flowers Ridge and proposed that the sect search for scattered authority together.
• Chu Xingchen named the Black Tortoise Kingdom in the Southern Jambu Continent as their first destination and invited everyone to suggest later stops.
• Yuankong asked what the sect was called, and Chu Xingchen began considering an answer.

Chu Xingchen led May All Go Well Returning Star Sect on a long journey from Yuzhou City toward Dongsheng Shenzhou, stopping to meet Li Junzi, visit places chosen by the disciples, and help people along the way. The group continued traveling together, with Zheng Zhaoling joining them and staying on.

• Chu Xingchen unveiled the Sect plaque bearing the name May All Go Well Returning Star Sect, then declared that the group was running away as they set out for the Southern Jambu Continent.
• The Sect reached Yuzhou City, held a grand gathering in Chanwood Temple's name, and Chu Xingchen and the disciples met with Li Junzi before leaving the Black Tortoise Kingdom.
• Li Yingling chose Dongsheng Shenzhou as their next destination, and the group traveled across continents, stopping at scenic places and intervening when they encountered wrongdoing.
• The group visited Li Yingling's chosen island chain, explored a Secret Realm in Central Province, and spent time at hot springs and a Sect recommended by Li Junzi.
• Cui Hao took the group to his hometown, shared stories and childhood foods, left a Dharma Treasure to protect his clan, and met some of his clansmen.
• Xu Jin and Yuyang Daozi occasionally joined the traveling party, while Zheng Zhaoling joined midway and stayed with the group as their road continued.

After returning to Ten Thousand Flowers Ridge, Chu Xingchen gave Cui Hao Myriad Forms and entrusted him with leading the sect while he left to handle urgent affairs. Cui Hao accepted the responsibility and grieved alone until dawn.

• Chu Xingchen and the others returned to Ten Thousand Flowers Ridge with their purchases, spirit horses, and Yun Li’s new beast, Yun Gui.
• Chu Xingchen told Xie Lingyu that he would visit the Heavenly Derivation Sect and asked her to stay behind to help manage the sect.
• Chu Xingchen met Cui Hao at night and gave him Myriad Forms, the peerless spirit treasure he had promised.
• Chu Xingchen entrusted the sect and several other treasures to Cui Hao, gave him guidance about their fellow disciples, and said he would leave the sect.
• Cui Hao sobbed alone over the stone table until dawn.

Bai Xuanling took over as Grand Elder of the Ten Thousand Wishes Return to the Star Sect and told Chen Baiqing that reclaiming lost authority could bring Chu Xingchen back. Chen Baiqing rejected being the price for his return, then chose to search for the authority alone before Li Xingtian revealed he could use his power actively and asked for her help; she agreed.

• Chu Xingchen won a game of Go against Bai Xuanling, asked her to protect Chen Baiqing, and left with the Spirit-Shattering Butterfly Jade.
• Bai Xuanling arrived at Ten Thousand Flowers Ridge, declared herself Grand Elder, and named Cui Hao the Sect Leader until Chu Xingchen returned.
• Bai Xuanling told Chen Baiqing she could exchange recovered authority for Chu Xingchen's return, but Chen Baiqing rejected the sacrifice and left in grief.
• After calming herself, Chen Baiqing decided to search for the authority alone and ignored a signal from the Azure Sky Treasure Ring.
• Li Xingtian told Chen Baiqing he could use his power actively and wanted her help; after asking whether the situation had been his choice, she answered, "Understood, Senior Brother."

After Chu Xingchen disappeared, Cui Hao and the disciples spent centuries searching for Authority and trying to restore the Spirit-Shattering Butterfly Jade. With every piece gathered but Chu Xingchen still absent, Cui Hao completed the Nai River Shuttle and led the others into the Myriad Dao River to bring their master back.

• Cui Hao took charge of the struggling Sect, assigned the disciples to search for Authority, and Li Yingling later led her own search team.
• Li Xingtian left to search alongside Chen Baiqing, and over the next decades they and the others recovered pieces of Authority while the Sect endured and grew.
• Li Xingtian and Chen Baiqing returned after 237 years with the final piece, which restored the Spirit-Shattering Butterfly Jade but did not bring Chu Xingchen back.
• Cui Hao completed the Nai River Shuttle and found Li Xingtian and Chen Baiqing, telling them he had discovered a way to bring Chu Xingchen back.
• Cui Hao activated the complete Spirit-Shattering Butterfly Jade with Myriad Forms and led Chu Xingchen's Personal Disciples and Xie Lingyu aboard the Nai River Shuttle into the Myriad Dao River.

After more than two hundred years, Chu Xingchen’s disciples found him beneath the Great Dao and brought him back to the sect. He awoke among them, and the story ended with the sect restored under a new name.

• Cui Hao guided the Nai River Shuttle through the realm of dao resonance as Li Yingling, Lin Luoyu, and Chen Baiqing spoke about their years without Chu Xingchen.
• Xie Lingyu spotted Chu Xingchen, and the group reached out from the shuttle to seize his clothes despite the Great Dao wearing away their hands.
• Chu Xingchen knocked Li Xingtian back, allowing the others to pull him aboard before the realm’s repelling force swept them away.
• At the sect, Bai Xuanling examined the unconscious Chu Xingchen while his disciples feared he had lost his soul, but he soon opened his eyes and spoke to them.
• Cui Hao named the sect the Master Is a Super Idiot Return to the Star Sect, and the next day a plaque reading Best in the World Returning Star Sect appeared above its gate.

Li Yingling escaped the Marquis's Residence to avoid being married to Minister Wang's halfwit son, but Chu Xingchen found her and offered her a path into cultivation. Two days later, he blasted open the residence's entrance and took her away, and Li Yingling felt her life had finally begun.

• Li Yingling planned to escape the Marquis's Residence rather than become a bargaining chip in a marriage to Minister Wang's halfwit son.
• During a festival, Li Yingling slipped away from her servants, climbed over the high wall, and tried to lose her pursuers in the crowd.
• Chu Xingchen caught Li Yingling and offered to take her into the Black Tortoise Kingdom's Number One Immortal Sect, promising to rescue her in two days.
• Li Yingling agreed to trust Chu Xingchen, though she warned she would make curse dolls of him if he broke his word.
• Two days later, Chu Xingchen blasted open the Marquis's Residence entrance and led Li Yingling away with Thousand-Mile Teleportation Talismans.
