In the crowd, a priest who also worked at the academy clicked his tongue in wonder.
"Blood of the Elf Race. Now that's a rare sight."
"Isn't it? No elves have appeared on the Croatia Continent for tens of thousands of years."
"I never imagined the Rose Duke House had elven blood. Truly unbelievable."
And so, the three deans led a large group of people dressed as priests over to Eros.
As soon as they reached him, they began looking him up and down, giving Eros goosebumps.
He was also a little nervous. If his secret came out, he would be done for.
Barbara seemed to sense his anxiety and spoke with a hint of disdain.
"From the moment you acquired Divine Art: Lord of Secrets, even a deity couldn't see through your true nature unless you allowed it. This is merely a sacred artifact."
Eros breathed a sigh of relief at that. So that skill of mine was actually that awesome?
Looking at the Emerald Light Orb in Eros's hand, the three deans exchanged glances before addressing him.
"Come with us!"
With that, they headed into the chapel, with Eros close behind.
Wendy wanted to follow too, but a gray-robed priest stopped her. He smiled kindly and said,
"The sacred artifact's rank is far too high. With your current strength, looking directly at it would only corrupt you."
"But Eros..."
"He'll be fine. The deans will protect him," the gray-robed priest replied, still smiling.
Though Wendy was still nervous, she could hardly keep insisting. She could only return to where she had been standing and lower her head, hiding her anxiety.
Eros followed the three deans into the chapel's inner hall, then stopped. One dean closed the door, leaving only the four of them inside.
One of the deans, dressed in deep-blue ceremonial robes, nodded. "Then let's begin!"
He carefully took an unremarkable Small Round Mirror from inside his robes and slowly poured spirit into it, speaking with utmost reverence.
"Lord Holy Spirit, please emerge and render judgment!"
As his words fell, a hazy glow rippled across the unremarkable Small Round Mirror. It slowly rose from the dean's hand and hovered in midair.
A moment later, illusory light flickered, and a cute little boy of eight or nine appeared in the air.
The instant the little boy appeared, the other two deans placed their hands on Eros's shoulders and raised a barrier of light, separating him from the boy.
They intended to place a blurring filter over Eros's eyes so he could not clearly see what was before him.
Had Eros been an ordinary person, all he would have seen at that moment was an indistinct gray blur.
He also knew the deans were doing this to protect him.
After all, if someone of a lower sequence looked directly at a higher-sequence being without any filtering, their body could collapse and mutate, driving them mad.
Unfortunately, Eros was no ordinary person. He could look directly at even a deity, let alone a mere sacred artifact.
The deans' attempts to obscure his vision clearly could not block the Eye of Eternal Night within his eyes.
Thus, he could still see everything unfolding before him clearly.
Yet the little boy who had appeared before him surprised Eros.
What?
So artifact spirits could appear in the real world? If even a sacred artifact could do that, then Barbara, as a divine artifact...
Seeing that she could no longer hide it, Barbara reluctantly spoke in Eros's mind.
"I can, yes..."
"Oh-ho! Then why didn't you ever come out before?"
At that question, Barbara fell silent and gave no answer.
Ha! Don't you have a damn clue why I never came out?
You already did such outrageous things in the Soul Space. If I came out, who knows how far you'd go?
Before you continue
