Contacting the Veil
"Catastrophe? This history didn't exist a thousand years ago. I originally thought this was a book that recorded falsehoods, but it has truly stood the test of time for a thousand years."
"But the other things in the book were so real, existing in both history and reality, that I gradually came to believe it."
"And so, while reading, I unknowingly entered a mysterious place."
"It was a place completely different from the real world, like the other side of the world."
"There, I awakened Transcendent powers and gradually grew stronger."
"However, I'm still figuring it out myself."
"Because of my weakness, I only dared to move along the edge of that mysterious place, because further in, I could vaguely see dark and terrifying shadows lingering in the depths of the gray mist."
"They were howling and attacking each other constantly; their strength was terrifying."
Therefore, I dare not go deeper.
"Later, I met many other Transcendent Being with similar experiences. We exchanged ideas and explored methods for advancement."
That mysterious region is known as "Beyond the Veil."
Beyond the Veil.
Angel Luna's gaze was serene, as if trying to see through the Veil spoken of by the mortals before her, piercing through the Nothingness.
She paused for a moment, realizing that this was a new Transcendent system, and a symbol of a new era.
"The Veil System has already reached a certain scale."
"It seems I'm a thousand years behind."
She looked at the young Transcendent Being in front of her and smiled.
"Thank you for letting me know, young man."
"You made me realize where the door to a new era opens."
"My name is Luna Anwyn, the acting ruler of the Star Civilization. If you have any needs in the future, you can make a request to the Stellar Administration, and they will report it to me."
The young Transcendent Being was overjoyed to hear the name of the Angel Luna.
"You are Luna!"
He couldn't help but bow.
"Greetings, Your Highness the Great Regent, Guardian Angel of the Star Civilization, I am Kasier."
Although the Age of Great Decline brought about the decline of the Transcendent in the normal world, it is now rare to see Transcendent Being individuals in the various regions of the Star Civilization, including the Governor's District, the Kingdom District, and the Resource District.
Because powerful Transcendent Being are not only rare, but also concentrated in the core areas of civilizations, most peripheral areas rarely have Transcendent Being.
The functions previously performed by lower-level Transcendent Being have been replaced by interstellar police forces equipped with high-tech combat weapons such as mechs.
But even so.
Powerful Transcendent Being still exist within civilization; for example, the Angel Luna is Seventh-Realm Supreme, belonging to the peak of the Transcendent realm, and still holds the Authority of civilization.
When Kasier saw the Angel Luna, he was as excited as an ordinary person would be when meeting a head of state.
"It's better not to get so excited. I'm going on a private visit, so I shouldn't make too much of a fuss."
"Okay, okay."
Kasier nodded excitedly.
"I'll remember you, Kasier."
"I have another question. Since you know many Transcendent Being within the Veil System, what are the methods by which they awakened their Transcendent?"
"I also want to go Beyond the Veil and see."
Luna Anwyn asked earnestly.
Upon hearing this, Kasier pondered for a moment before speaking.
"Your Highness, our group has held many gatherings."
"In these gatherings, we usually discuss how to achieve Transcendent advancement and how to minimize the impact of entering the Veil."
"But we've also talked about the path to awakening the Transcendent."
"Through numerous conversations, we discovered that we had one thing in common."
"That is, each of us who enters the Veil World will come into contact with some mysterious and ancient objects at the beginning."
"It could be an ancient book recording Nothingness history, a clay tablet with writing on it, a desolate ancient stele, a parchment from a bygone era, or a record from a thousand years ago..."
"And these ancient artifacts all record the catastrophe of a thousand years ago."
That brings us to this.
His eyes revealed a sense of confusion.
"The catastrophe a thousand years ago—to be honest, we almost never believed such a thing could happen at first. But as we learned more about it and became more and more convinced, we were eventually accepted by the Veil."
Luna Anwyn listened patiently, her eyes revealing contemplation and the same confusion.
"A catastrophe a thousand years ago?"
"The upheaval of a thousand years ago..."
"I seem to recall it, but it's as if some force forcibly erased this memory."
She decided she absolutely had to find out more about it later.
She also believed that she herself would have recorded such strange events that had occurred in the past.
After a moment's thought.
She looked at Kasier and spoke.
"I understand. In other words, as long as you observe these ancient artifacts that record the 'catastrophe' from a thousand years ago and recognize that 'this event' actually happened, then the Veil you speak of will draw you in. And then, you will be able to awaken."
"Am I right, Kasier?"
You're right.
Kasier nodded.
"That's right, Your Highness. Everything you've said matches our conclusions."
"We all entered the Veil because of that story from a thousand years ago about something that 'does not exist.'"
"Furthermore, not everyone can touch the Veil. I've experimented; some people can't even touch Veil even when these artifacts are placed right in front of them."
"This means that the Veil has a threshold; not everyone can enter."
"Okay, I understand, Kasier."
Luna Anwyn nodded and made a mental note of it.
Then she bid farewell to Kasier and returned to her sky villa, located above Palembang and built on the tallest building.
Inside the villa.
She began searching for traces of her past records.
She believes that she must have been aware of what was happening beforehand, and that this will leave traces for her future self in discovering the truth.
really.
On the wall in front of a corridor, she found a small but eternal symbol next to a picture of Lord of Heaven.
"This is the mark I left behind."
"For so many years, I've subconsciously forgotten about it."
She sighed, lifted the portrait, and finally found a dusty notebook inside.
She took out the notebook, dusted it off, opened it to the first page, and looked at the familiar handwriting.
She discovered that these were the words she herself had written, words she had long forgotten.
She read it aloud, word by word.
"Catastrophe has arrived, the Defiled World has invaded, and filth has descended upon the dust!"
"... To resist the formidable enemy... they went to war... The Star Civilization was no match... and led the remaining people in flight... until one day, the formidable enemy suddenly disappeared..."
She read it patiently, going from initial doubt to complete conviction.
"So, I really had forgotten about that."
And just as she was marveling at this, suddenly, a world unlike any she had ever known opened its doors to her!
