At the mountaintop.
The wind whistled.
Several enormous pine trees twisted along the cliff's edge, like a gateway to the heavens.
Feeling the kinship flowing through his blood, Lionheart looked at his striking father with his purple eyes and white wings, and felt a sense of security he had never known before.
Before Jiang You could answer, he began recounting his past.
The bond in his blood made him willing to tell Jiang You everything that had happened over the years, holding nothing back.
He had been fostered in the Human Race Tribe since childhood, living alongside human brothers and sisters and raised by human elders who had emerged from the Sanctuary.
Under the elders' guidance, they had learned to raise griffins from an early age, growing up alongside griffin chicks.
Besides the griffins.
There were also quite a few goblin officials and soldiers in the Human Race Tribe. They served as the eyes of Goblin Emperor Amigel, monitoring the tribe's development and its progress in raising griffins.
Of course, they were also tasked with protecting the Human Race Tribe.
Because of a certain agreement, the elders from the Sanctuary could not teach them some of their precious advanced knowledge.
Many times, he had seen those human elders sighing late at night, pained by the loss of their civilization's legacy.
For their race to survive, sometimes they had no choice but to compromise.
Until he was six.
He had not even known that he had parents.
That day.
The Goblin Emperor's Human Race Empress Consort came to the Human Race Tribe, where half the population were children.
The empress consort was the humans' nominal leader. Although she was only a Sequence 8 "Reader," her professional expertise from the previous era allowed her to "lead" the humans of today.
She brought a great deal of supplies, along with some resources for cultivation.
There were human children in the tribe who possessed transcendent potential, but their aptitude was extremely low.
It might have been related to the transition between eras, and would need to improve over successive generations.
The Human Race Empress Consort secured some goblin profession paths for them, laying the foundation for humanity's new transcendent power.
This profession was called "Knight."
However, the Knight profession path the goblins gave the humans could only reach the hero tier at most. There was no legendary stage beyond it.
Goblin Emperor Amigel stated bluntly that every profession's legendary path had been earned through generations of cultivation by countless goblins, paid for with time, blood, tears, and experience.
They could not possibly hand them over to the Human Race Tribe.
Throughout his earlier life.
Lionheart had shown tremendous transcendent potential, yet for some reason.
The tribe's elders had not allowed him to become a "Knight," saying that a better future awaited him.
Then, on the night of that visit.
The Human Race Empress Consort stayed in the tribe. Just as Lionheart was about to fall asleep, she came into his room, held him in her arms, and bowed her head as she wept through the night.
That night.
Six-year-old Lionheart learned that his mother was the empress consort whom Goblin Emperor Amigel had forcibly married, but his father was not the Goblin Emperor. He was a powerful figure far away on the eastern coast of the Ferland Continent!
He was Jiang You, the Goblin Empire's Guardian of the Eastern Border and Sky Guardian, a Grand Duke, and the Winged People King of the eastern coast!
Mature for his age, he remembered his mother Fiona's words and kept the secret buried in his heart.
Lionheart slowly grew up this way. Although he could not train in transcendent powers, he practiced swordsmanship tirelessly, day and night.
He looked forward to the day when he would be strong enough to take his mother away from the Imperial Palace!
Nine years passed, and Lionheart grew from a small child into a handsome blond youth!
A month earlier.
His mother Fiona told him that he could go to Paradise Mountain on the eastern coast to find Jiang You, and asked him to prepare.
Then, the next day.
A goblin official came to him and ordered him to take several of the griffins he had raised and accompany the nineteenth prince, Asa Amigel, to his distant fief.
During that time, he was to teach the nineteenth prince and his trusted knights how to ride griffins.
After he had taught those goblin knights.
The nineteenth prince patted him on the shoulder and told him to go attend to his own affairs.
Although he had gotten along well with the prince, that alone was not enough to explain such words.
He was therefore deeply puzzled.
"Why would you say that, Your Highness?"
But the nineteenth prince offered only one sentence, his smile laden with meaning.
"I made an agreement with Empress Consort Fiona."
And so Lionheart was able to reach Paradise Mountain by the Eastern Sea without trouble.
At the summit of Paradise Mountain.
By the time Lionheart finished recounting his experiences.
Evening was already approaching.
The sun was about to set, and vast swathes of crimson clouds flowed with the sea breeze through the picturesque landscape.
A gentle light filled Jiang You's purple eyes as he smiled softly.
"You've been through so much, my child."
"My blood flows in your veins. You can inherit my legendary path!"
"By the way, I remember that humans had transcendent practitioners called 'Sequence Users.' Why didn't your elders let you become one?"
"Mother said the age of Sequence Users ended long ago. Profession users are the mainstream of this era!"
"In this era, transcendent Sequence Users no longer have any foundation on which to survive. The various resources needed for their advancement no longer exist."
Lionheart explained honestly.
"I see."
Jiang You finally understood.
So this era no longer allowed "Sequence Users" to emerge.
Sequence Users needed the organs of many long-extinct magical creatures to advance, and those could no longer be found.
A transcendent path like that would have to be developed all over again after just one mass extinction.
"My son, Lionheart. Come stand beside me, and let me see what transcendent aptitude you possess!"
Jiang You beckoned.
"Yes, Father."
Lionheart stepped closer.
Jiang You placed his hand on his head.
His transcendent power stirred slightly, drawing in the surrounding elements. A gentle breeze rose, stirring the golden hair.
Suddenly, white and purple light blazed from Lionheart's body.
He, too, possessed radiance and thunder!
Delighted by the sight, Jiang You withdrew his hand.
"As expected of my son. Lionheart, you possess the same transcendent talents as I do!"
"I can pass my profession path on to you in its entirety."
"However, you have no wings, so you may need to make a few minor adjustments to the profession path."
"But that won't be much of a problem!"
Under Lionheart's expectant gaze.
Jiang You extended his right hand, a hazy glow swirling around it, and gently touched Lionheart's forehead.
"Now, hold your breath, focus your mind, and give this your full attention!"
At once.
Scene after scene appeared in Lionheart's mind.
The first showed a young winged man wielding the Bronze Longsword.
Thunder shimmered along his blade, and his purple eyes shone like lightning!
Then came scenes of the young winged man's training as he advanced step by step along the path to becoming a Legendary!
He created a profession, devised its advancement paths, and finally slew a Legendary while still at the hero tier, becoming a Legendary himself on the spot!
At last, the images settled on several scenes depicting a legendary path!
"Thunder Wielder-Wings of Thunder-Sacred Wing Walker-Sacred Thunder Blaze!"
