Baron, You've Been Exposed!
The flames in the fireplace flickered and crackled, illuminating the entire room along with the stardust lamps on the ceiling.
Portraits of ancestors are displayed on the high walls, each with its own expression, seemingly watching over the grandfather and grandson.
In such an atmosphere, whatever you do will naturally have a solemn feel to it.
In front of the fireplace.
The black-haired boy shook his head slightly, looking puzzled, upon hearing his grandfather's words.
"Grandpa, all I know is that this is the Dark Star Pendant, a family heirloom of the Blake family. It contains super-level Star Arts can help my Black Family, the Light of the Dark Stars."
"We've weathered many family crises thanks to the Dark Star Pendant."
"The Dark Star Pendant possesses mysterious powers, enabling it to accomplish many things that are otherwise impossible."
The black-haired boy's words made the old baron nod and shake his head at the same time.
He looked at the flames in the fireplace, his gaze sweeping into the distance, and laughed.
"Little Minglande, you're right about everything, but none of it gets to the heart of the matter."
"I'll ask you again, do you know what the family motto of the Black Family is?"
"Eternal perseverance and waiting!"
The black-haired boy had clear eyes and spoke.
So, what are we holding onto, and what are we waiting for?
The old baron asked with a smile.
"Grandpa, Father told me that Blake upholds justice and awaits victory!"
The black-haired boy answered without hesitation.
"You're wrong, child!"
The old baron grinned.
"Hey, that's not what we've been holding onto and waiting for."
What is that?
The black-haired boy asked, puzzled.
"And here we are again with this Dark Star Pendant in my hand."
He raised his hand, holding up the Dark Star Pendant, and smiled.
"The Black Family has existed in the Aikeli region of the Northlands for countless millennia, rising from the most prestigious ducal family to its current status as a baronial family."
"But even so, we have remained steadfast here generation after generation."
That brings us to this.
The old baron stood up and said solemnly.
"Minglande, please remember what I'm about to say!"
"Okay, Grandpa."
"What we have been waiting for is the return of Night Star Empress Fulina, the Night Star."
"And what we've always held onto is the signpost guiding her home!"
"But Grandpa, I remember, wasn't Night Star Empress one of the fourteen evil empresses in the ancient history of the Empire of Stars?"
The black-haired boy looked confused.
Upon hearing this, the old baron looked disdainful.
"The history of the Empire of Stars?"
"Hey! It's just the pattern of the victors writing history."
"Too much time has passed; the people of Dumanlin today have long forgotten the true history."
Stardust shone in his hand as he touched the Dark Star Pendant, which immediately glowed faintly.
A thick book appeared in his hands.
"This is the original history written by our ancestors!"
"Minglande, every generation of the Black Family records their deeds here. When I pass this Dark Star Pendant and this book to you, your deeds will also be recorded here."
He continued.
"Little Minglande, now I'll tell you the true history of the real Night Star Empress, Her Majesty Fulina!"
Legend has it that in the ancient Dark Ages, the Night Star Empress rose to power in...
"Established the Kentos Night Star Empire..." (See Chapter 264)
In the old baron's narration.
Outside Baron Blake's Castle.
The deep darkness gradually faded, Daybreak was approaching.
Inside the warm environment on the second floor of the castle.
Through the old baron's narration, the black-haired boy gradually learned about the long and unknown history of that ancient era.
"Minglande, my Black Family is actually a family founded by the descendants of the noble Night Star Empress Fulina!"
"We were once called the Night Star Family, founded by Blake Night Star, the only son of Empress Fulina."
"We were once a noble imperial family!"
Seemingly imagining the past glories of his ancestors, the old baron's eyes gleamed with longing.
"However, during the Rebellion of the Stars, the family's ancestors changed their name to the Black Family to avoid being purged."
"Over the years, the family has slowly declined, and now it is merely a baron in a peripheral region."
"However, you must remember that noble blood flows in our veins."
"After I die, Little Minglande, you will bear the history and responsibility of the family, carry on the bloodline, and await the return of our ancestral empress!"
The black-haired boy looked solemn.
"I will, Grandpa!"
"Then, if our ancestor Night Star Empress, were to return, how would we know?"
"Good question, Little Minglande!"
The old baron looked pleased.
He held up the Dark Star Pendant in his hand with a look of respect.
"When the Empress returns, this Dark Star will shine with brilliant Night Star."
"This place itself contains one of the coordinates left by Night Star Empress in the Dumanlin World!"
He sighed softly.
"I just wonder, of the ten great families left behind by the Empress, how many are still in existence today?"
Just as he was sighing.
Sudden.
The entire Baron Blake's Castle shook violently, and large amounts of bricks and dust rained down from the roof.
"What happened?!"
The old baron's expression changed. Before he could put away the Dark Star Pendant, he suddenly stood up and looked out of the castle through the window.
A squad of Star Warlock enforcers appeared in the sky outside Blake Castle and spoke coldly to them.
"Baron Blake, you've been caught. Come with us!"
