Even in his memories of the original game, Greg had no particular dislike for Seraphina, the Goddess of Light.

The reasons were simple.

First, Seraphina's sacred beauty was the pinnacle of the modeling and art teams' work. Even if her exaggerated breasts really were faked with divine magic, that did nothing to diminish her overall status as a symbol of beauty.

Second, this goddess had pitifully little screen time. In the main storyline, she was nothing more than a lofty background figure, with no chance to do anything that would annoy the players. Naturally, there was no reason to dislike her.

Nightmare snorted, her voice thick with unmistakable disgust. "That hypocritical radiance and those ridiculous burdens are merely one reason. The true reason I despise her is..."

She suddenly fell silent for a moment before slowly continuing:

"On that point, even I seem unable to remember clearly. Only recently did I realize that my memories of certain aspects of myself had grown hazy, as though shrouded in a thick fog..."

Her voice sank, carrying a trace of barely perceptible unease and self-doubt. "...I wonder whether that fellow has something to do with it."

Greg said, "Heh, what a coincidence. To tell you the truth, some of my own memories of the past seem to have gone wrong too. Great, now we can form a bond and be a pair of cryptic riddlers, guessing back and forth. Who knows? Maybe we'll even trigger some hidden storyline."

Although he was somewhat disappointed not to have obtained the information he wanted, Greg had no time to investigate further.

As they talked, the corridor that had seemed so long it would never end finally reached its conclusion.

Ahead lay no further stretch of darkness, but a massive stone door that completely blocked their way.
