After turning back, Greg lowered his gaze to the [Dark Abyss Demon Armor], shadows flowing over its surface. He clenched his fists inside their fearsome gauntlets, feeling the surging strength that far surpassed anything he had possessed before, and was inwardly stunned.
He had never imagined that swallowing a finger in that lake could bring him such a tremendous improvement.
And that was not even the only skill that had transformed!
"I thought I would end up buried alongside thee. But... why has thy power suddenly grown so much?"
Nightmare's somewhat excited voice suddenly rang out in Greg's mind.

Greg had intended to briefly explain the terrifying things he had seen and heard in that pool of blood.
Yet the moment he uttered a single syllable, his throat felt as though an invisible hand had clamped around it!
Every description of that blood-red space and the Red-Haired Girl was sealed away by an invisible force, impossible to express in any form!
Greg's heart sank, and a chill ran down his spine.
This unsettled him more than any direct injury could have.
Because it meant that swallowing that severed finger had not merely increased his power. It had also marked him-or perhaps formed the beginnings of a covenant.
That casual promise to "take her out" probably... would not be so easy to dismiss as a joke anymore.
