After stepping alone into the depths of the lava zone, Lilith swept her gaze across the area ahead, where the heat distorted her vision, and soon fixed on an enormous figure.
The Lava Armored Beast lay beside a pool of magma, seemingly drawing heat from beneath the ground.
It resembled an enormous rhinoceros, its entire body covered in pitch-black stone armor. Dark red lines shone through the gaps, as though magma flowed slowly beneath its surface.
Its head hung low, two curved horns jutting from either side of its forehead. With each breath, two streams of scorching air burst from its nostrils.
"Grr..."
Seemingly sensing the intruder's presence, the Lava Armored Beast slowly raised its head.
A pair of orange-yellow eyes with slit pupils locked onto Lilith, and a low rumble rose from deep in its throat.
Although facing such a powerful monster alone frightened her a little, Lilith took a deep breath to suppress her nerves, then attacked first.
"Blazing Spear!"
She swept her right hand through the air. Crimson flames swiftly condensed into a spear roughly two meters long, its tip burning fiercely as it whistled toward the Lava Armored Beast's face.
When she saw that the Lava Armored Beast did not dodge, Lilith was instantly overjoyed.
But disappointment quickly followed.
After striking the black stone armor, the Blazing Spear left only a shallow scorch mark, failing to inflict any real damage.
"I refuse to believe every part of it is that tough!"
Lilith gritted her teeth and waved both hands in rapid succession. Two more Blazing Spears shot out, aimed at the Lava Armored Beast's neck and belly.
Yet the result remained the same. The flames scattered the instant they touched the stone armor, dealing no real damage.
"ROAR!!"
Lilith's relentless attacks had thoroughly enraged the Lava
