After realizing that his conventional attacks could barely inflict any meaningful damage, Greg decided to try another approach.
Relying on his agility and anticipation, he narrowly dodged one lightning-fast thrust and sweep after another, along with the venom spray that covered an enormous area, then tried using Dark Wave.
That inconspicuous black speck flew out again, striking the joint of one of the Eight-Legged Lady's legs.
It worked!
A system notification flashed, showing that the Eight-Legged Lady had been afflicted with negative statuses such as [Slowed] and [Weakened].
But the effects were nowhere near as pronounced as they had been on the Goblin Shaman, and they lasted much less time. Greg could also clearly feel that this cast had consumed considerably more mana.
Just as he had expected, a high-level, highly resistant giant lord with a blessing had extremely strong resistance to such negative statuses.
If he tried to wear her down this way, his mana would run out first.
"I can't keep dragging this out..."
Greg's mind raced, his gaze sweeping rapidly across the complicated terrain around him.
Since he couldn't use the webs in the boss room for an environmental kill, could he use something else in this deeper area?
An idea flashed through his mind.
He stopped fighting the Eight-Legged Lady head-on and began retreating in a direction he remembered, harassing her with the Fireball Spell to keep her attention as he fought his way back.
The Eight-Legged Lady let out an enraged hiss and thundered after him on her eight long legs.
She seemed determined to tear apart and devour this little bug that had dared provoke her and even burn her with fire.
Strangely enough, no other monsters interfered along the way.
With the area lord personally hunting down her prey, the other monsters had
