"What the hell is that noise?"
The refugees huddled in the neighboring cells watched the two buddies suddenly start grinning like idiots and shrank deeper into the shadows in fright.
To these refugees, turning to the Abyss was something they had been forced to do in desperation, simply to stay alive.
Deep down, they still feared the unknown, cruel power of the Abyss.
But the way these two looked...
Those eyes gleaming with hungry anticipation, those bodies trembling with excitement, and those spine-chilling snickers.
These two really seemed to worship the Abyss with genuine, wholehearted fanaticism!
They looked positively eager to receive their baptism and become the Abyss's lackeys.
"Have these two... already been driven insane?"
The refugees looked away in despair. A suffocating, deathly silence filled the air.
But [Give Me Your Phone] and [You've Cried Already] couldn't care less about the NPCs' stares.
They simply kept encouraging each other in their cell.
In the small hours, while the Cultist guards outside were nodding off.
To keep themselves sharp, the two even tacitly took turns sneaking offline for a late-night snack, then held their ground until dawn.
Blue Star, around seven in the morning.
This was when many players had agreed to log in together.
The First Closed Beta Five-Person Group, in particular, had practically made a habit of it.
Some players who had spent the entire night grinding watched the Ash Church gradually come alive, then hurried offline for breakfast.
After a night's rest, the newly logged-in players were full of energy, ready to keep leveling in the Black Forest or team up to explore more distant, unknown maps.
But between fights, almost everyone was discussing the same thing.
"Where are Phone Bro and Cried Bro? Why haven't we heard anything from those two undercover agents yet?"
