Lin En decided not to let the system update just yet.
The players were busy preparing for an all-out assault on Fog Town, and their enthusiasm and morale were at their peak.
They had even started discussing tactics for tomorrow's assault.
If he suddenly pushed out a hotfix now and changed all the game mechanics,
it would be like swapping someone's shoes for high heels just as they were about to run a hundred-meter sprint.
Not only would it disrupt the tactical plans the players had worked so hard to put together, it would also make them think the game's designer was an idiot.
Worse yet, everyone might log in tomorrow morning, discover the payout rules had changed, and start fighting among themselves over the unfair distribution of rewards.
"I need to hold steady. I can't lose sight of the big picture over a little gain."
Lin En took a deep breath and suppressed the urge to launch the new systems immediately and milk the players.
A seasoned game designer always knew when to dangle the biggest bait.
"Once they capture Fog Town and deliver the Weeping Madonna's Divine Core to me."
"By then, I should have advanced to a level two village god without a hitch. Not only will my Divine Power soar, I'll be able to expand my territory into Fog Town."
Immense ambition flashed in Lin En's eyes.
"Then I'll use a major version update as an excuse to take the servers down for maintenance!"
"I'll bundle the [Guild System], the [Party System], and the [Third Large-Scale Closed Beta] these Cloud Gamers have been desperately waiting for!"
"And release an epic expansion called 'Awakening of the Old Gods: Guild Era'!"
If he dropped all those bombshells at once, it wouldn't just excite the fifty players currently online.
