Idiveer stepped forward again, stopping only when he reached the two men.
He slowly raised his arms and said in a voice so low it was barely audible, "Let's go. You've now captured a Viking Purple-Pattern Leader alive."
Yetos tilted his head. "You came here to surrender? That doesn't sound like something you'd do."
His voice returned to normal. "Heh. Do you think I'm plotting something? Even if I were, do you think I'd need to take such a huge risk?"
After a brief moment of thought, Yetos nodded. A glimmer of green flashed through his eyes, and vines appeared between Idiveer's arms, binding them tightly. The thorns on them prevented him from even turning his wrists.
"So, what are your terms?" Zeng Mu looked him up and down and asked with keen interest.
"I need to keep two people alive."
"No!" Yetos immediately rejected his terms, raising one finger. "One. I'll let you trade yourself for one person at most. Don't bargain with me. If the enemy standing before you were anyone from the Seven Kingdoms instead of me, they probably wouldn't guarantee even one person's life."
Idiveer considered this too, then reluctantly nodded his agreement.
"Then who do you want to save?"
He exhaled the stale breath trapped in his chest. "Huiduo Fitzgerald. O'Connor Woolf Fitzgerald."
Yetos looked displeased, and his voice lost its patience. "I told you, only one person."
"One of those two. But I can't decide which one yet. Give me some time."
After hearing this, Yetos glanced at Zeng Mu, his eyes clearly expressing confusion.
The look Zeng Mu gave him was simple too: they would discuss it when they got back.
And so the two men escorted Idiveer, their willing captive, toward the encampment west of Creek Valley.
