Boom!!
The engine nozzles at the Drone's tail adjusted their angle and blasted toward the ground.
Powerful air currents kicked up dust from the steel plates.
The aircraft slowly rose vertically.
Ten meters.
Twenty meters.
Through the window, Lin Mo looked down over the wasteland below.
The craters grew smaller and smaller.
The Drone adjusted its attitude, and its rear engines fired at full power.
Rumble-
The aircraft accelerated sharply, flying forward.
The tremendous acceleration pressed Lin Mo back into his seat.
He took a deep breath and gently clenched his right hand.
Milky-white Holy Light spilled from his palm and flowed through the cabin.
The warm light dispelled the stinging pain caused by radiation.
Lin Mo closed his eyes.
The staff's updates continued to come through his headset.

The Drone's rear engines expelled one final blast of air.
The aircraft slammed heavily onto the steel runway with an ear-piercing screech of metal.
Through the cabin door's glass, the edges of the engine nozzles were charred black. The nuclear dust had corroded them more severely than expected.
Without maintenance and replacements, it would be unable to carry out a second flight.
"Mission successfully completed!"
A communications officer's delighted voice came through the communicator.
Click!
The large elevator doors slowly opened.
The Drone rolled into the elevator.
Rumble-
The elevator began descending, the low rumble of machinery echoing in his ears.
Lin Mo leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes.
A few minutes later, the elevator stopped.
The doors opened, and dazzling incandescent light shone through the window.
Lin Mo opened his eyes and saw more than a dozen staff members in heavy radiation suits standing in neat formation outside the elevator.
