Several members of the staff quickly pulled up the weapons database and ran simulations for orbital strikes, bunker-buster bombs, directed-energy weapons, and Antimatter Bombs, but the proposals on the screen turned red one after another.
Orbital Kinetic Weapons could penetrate the surface, but they still could not deliver tungsten-steel rods precisely ten kilometers underground.
Even if they could get them down there, it would not do much good!
An Antimatter Bomb had a chance of affecting that depth, but it could only detonate at five kilometers. By the time its force reached the target, it would produce little more than an earthquake.
Expending a strategic-grade Antimatter Bomb on an earthquake whose effects were uncertain was pointless.
A few minutes later, the staff delivered their conclusion.
"With our current equipment, we cannot be confident of destroying the target."
Zheng Jinren fell silent for a moment.
"Ask Watcher whether the Kona Civilization has suitable equipment."
The communications request was sent out at once.
In less than ten seconds, Watcher's reply appeared on the Main Screen.
[The Kona Civilization has never encountered this method of invasion. All active combat units are designed for shallow resources within five kilometers of the surface and cannot carry a sufficient payload to the spatial fluctuation zone under the target conditions.] [Mining operations could accomplish this, but the time required would render it pointless.]
It was not that the Kona Civilization could not manufacture such equipment. They had simply never encountered an enemy they needed to fight beneath ten thousand meters of rock, so naturally, they had never developed corresponding weapons.
Designing and producing new equipment on short notice would take time.
The Demon Clan clearly would not stop and wait for them.
"Then we won't go down," Zheng Jinren decided quickly.
