She used her ability to sense Gyrfalcon's heart and found a warm, wonderfully comfortable feeling there.
But after only a moment, she realized her ability was draining rapidly. It was probably because she had only just reached level four, while Gyrfalcon was already level five.
She gave Bai Yaoyao a discreet nod. Bai Yaoyao smiled. It seemed... they had gained another companion.
"Well, let me give you a name," Bai Yaoyao said.
Xiao Shiliu almost burst out laughing and whispered to Dada Juan, "Just watch. It'll be either Big Sea or Little Blue."
Gyrfalcon nodded happily, watching Bai Yaoyao with earnest attention.
Bai Yaoyao had originally intended to say Little Blue, but then she thought about it. Little Crook, Little Earthy Yellow, Little Red, and the other plants were the ones whose names started with "Little."
The mutant beasts generally had names like Big Meow and Great Sage... except for Little Rabbit, who had been with them for so long and still hadn't managed to get a proper name!
So she said, "Your name will be Big Sea!"
Xiao Shiliu and Dada Juan immediately clutched their heads and dissolved into laughter. Bai Yaoyao rolled her eyes. Those two definitely hadn't been saying anything nice about her!
Gyrfalcon, however, was delighted and answered with a cry, soaring excitedly into the sky for a lap before coming back down. Big Sea even gestured for Bai Yaoyao to climb onto that back, intending to take her up for a little fun.
Listening to the howling wind and looking at Big Sea's scrawny little body, Bai Yaoyao was tempted, but ultimately couldn't bear to put Big Sea through it.
