|---|---|---|
| Spatial awakening — previous life | 1 | Initially possessed a storage-only space approximately the size of a twenty-square-meter bedroom. |
| Spatial level three — previous life | 1 | Unlocked offensive and movement applications, including Spatial Blade, Spatial Cut, throwing, and Teleportation. |
| Spatial level nine — previous life | 1 | Storage expanded to approximately the size of a soccer field; her spatial skills and fighting expertise placed her sixth among Huaguo’s strongest fighters. |
| Mutated spatial ability; level one confirmed — current life | 1 3 | Returned with her ability before the apocalypse. The space had no discernible boundaries and contained a house and cultivable soil; she could enter it herself despite its low ability level. |

| Psychic level two | 22 | Reached by absorbing one level-two special-type crystal core after the clothing-factory battle. |
| Strength level three | 22 | Reached using the speed zombie’s crystal core and another 222 level-zero cores; prioritized over spatial advancement for immediate melee effectiveness. |
| Spatial and psychic level three | 29 | Both had caught up with her strength ability after the University Town campaign. The chapter explicitly describes storing consenting living creatures at spatial level three. |
| Level-three refinement; no level increase | 36 | Mutated spring water healed old injuries, strengthened her mental power, and made ability use and cultivation more effective without raising her level. |
- Next planned advancement: After defeating a level-four zombie, she intended to combine its core with her reserves to attempt spatial level four. Success is not documented in the supplied chapters 48.
Background / History
Bai Yaoyao was taken in by her Master alongside Fat Brother. She treats November 1—the anniversary of their rescue—as her birthday. Training from childhood left her with lasting injuries, particularly in her lower back and knees, and her harmless appearance later helped her complete numerous S-rank assassination missions 1 9 36.
In her previous life, she survived ten years of the apocalypse and founded the Dark Night Squad with trusted companions. Although her spatial ability initially offered little combat value, her fighting skills carried her to the point where it developed offensive applications. She eventually became a level-nine ability user 1.
Her companions died across those ten years. Peiqi died in the sixth year; Xiaomi sacrificed himself with a bomb to open an escape route; Doggie died after taking a zombie’s claw strike for her. Her final battle against a Spatial Emperor-Class Zombie ended in her death after her remaining companions sacrificed themselves to give her a chance to attack. Her fingertips touched its crystal core immediately before she died 1 10 14.
She then awoke on Australia’s Gold Coast three months before the apocalypse. Finding that her spatial ability had mutated, she suspected the Emperor-Class Zombie’s core had caused the change, but did not know why she had been reborn 1.
Appearance
- Face: Fair skin, large doll-like eyes, a small delicate nose, and a sweet smile with two dimples 1.
- Build: A slight frame that helps her appear physically harmless 6.
- Practical clothing: Wears sportswear with her hair in a high ponytail when hiking; equips her squad with black combat uniforms and low-cut combat boots 9 15.
- After drinking spring water: Her complexion becomes clearer, rosier, and unusually flawless 36.
Personality
Bai Yaoyao is ruthless toward threats to herself and her companions. She kills efficiently, exploits others’ assumptions about her appearance, and eliminates Liu Mengyuan before the betrayal she remembers can occur. She does not consider the continued existence of pre-apocalypse law a reason to spare someone she regards as dangerous 5 8.
Her deepest loyalty is to her fellow disciples. Rebirth matters to her primarily because they are alive again, and she approaches their survival with an increasingly protective, almost parental attitude. She worries about their injuries, disciplines A-Dai for wasting food, and reluctantly agrees to warn everyone before undertaking another solo outing 1 27 40 46.
Her refusal to present herself as a rescuer does not prevent selective generosity. She teaches students how to use crystal cores, leaves food as payment for shelter, buries Big Meow’s owner, and supplies a mother with baby necessities while insisting that the exchange is strictly transactional 26 33 42 49.
She values comfort and independence rather than governing others. Despite possessing enough supplies to feed a base, she has no interest in establishing one or recruiting strangers. She enjoys good food, King Zhou’s music, travel, and mountain climbing, and imagines eventually returning to relaxed assassination work or obtaining a regular public-sector job 5 8 9 10.
Abilities & Skills
Spatial Ability
Her original storage ability becomes a much broader resource after rebirth 1.
- Storage and preservation: Stores food, weapons, vehicles, furniture, and entire collections of books. Stored cooked food remains hot and fresh 3 10 16.
- Habitable space: Contains a house with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, alongside soil where she grows medicinal herbs 1 20.
- Remote placement: Can place stored objects up to two hundred meters away before the apocalypse; uses this to plant the shrine bomb without entering the main hall 5 6.
- Teleportation: Repositions rapidly to close with enemies, escape attacks, and strike vulnerable targets 21 24 40.
- Spatial Blade and Spatial Cut: Uses Spatial Blade against an invisible zombie and Spatial Cut during the coordinated killing of a level-four zombie 40 48.
- Living occupants: Personally enters the mutated space immediately after rebirth and brings Little Crook inside before reaching spatial level three. Later, she explicitly identifies consent as necessary for storing living creatures 1 20 29.
- Early limitation: Mutation does not immediately restore her former offensive power; she initially relies on conventional weapons and combat instincts 2 18.
Strength Ability
Her newly awakened strength enhances her existing close-combat expertise 13.
- Initially struggles with fine control and accidentally shatters a drinking glass 13.
- Pulverizes a low-level zombie’s head with a single baseball-bat swing 16.
- Channels strength into her arms for heavy melee strikes; caves in a level-four zombie’s shoulder when it evades a head strike 48.
- Is not sufficient to overcome every defense: her reinforced machete cracks against the mutant ant without inflicting serious damage 32.
Psychic Ability
Her psychic power provides perception, defensive resistance, and direct mental attacks 13 21 33.
- Perception: Initially senses everyone’s position and posture within a room; later scans surroundings for enemies 13 24.
- Intent sensing: Detects Little Crook’s lack of hostility and interprets his emotional responses 20.
- Resistance and disruption: Resists a psychic zombie’s attacks while fighting its speed-type bodyguard, then uses psychic interference to create an opening 21.
- Mental Piercing: Supports the squad against the mutant ant and suppresses Big Meow’s concentration during their first confrontation 33 41.
- Limits: Cannot penetrate an area occupied by the level-three psychic zombie near H University; sustained combat and divided psychic attention drain her stamina 21 24.
Assassination & Combat
Her supernatural abilities supplement years of training rather than replace them 1 15.
- Uses disguise, persuasion, poison, and rapid blade attacks to assassinate Shinichi Sato and his four bodyguards 3.
- Creates an alibi through photographs and staged friendship before escaping the shrine bombing 6 7.
- Uses false ticket information, cloned vehicle plates, crowd-compatible clothing, and surveillance avoidance to conceal Liu Mengyuan’s murder 8.
- Studies enemy behavior before attacking, including the fire zombie’s roughly five-second interval between abilities 24.
- Uses green paint to expose an invisible zombie so her companions can fight it 40.
Leadership & Cultivation Knowledge
Her memories provide a substantial early advantage, though the new timeline increasingly diverges from them 12 24.
- Assigns procurement tasks, secures a fortified home, and organizes supplies before the apocalypse 2 5 6 12.
- Builds formations around tanks, melee attackers, ranged ability users, healing, crowd control, and amplification 15.
- Allocates crystal cores according to the squad’s needs, prioritizing offensive leaders and then defensive and support abilities 19 27 29.
- Finds that absorbing cores inside her space is more than three times faster than normal and more effective than absorption outside it 20.
- Teaches others how to extract and absorb crystal cores 15 26.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Baseball bat: Favored early-apocalypse weapon; avoids the short reach and blood splashes associated with daggers 16 18.
- Daggers and machetes: Used for assassinations, close combat, and extracting crystal cores; one machete is reinforced by Fat Brother’s metal ability 3 15 32.
- Explosives and firearms: Includes the Caz287 Bomb, sJ11 Micro Bomb, grenades, and guns for demolition or immediate threats 3 6 16 17 24.
- Vehicles: Stores an armored Mercedes-Benz taken from Sato, modified RVs, and other vehicles; later negotiates two military off-road vehicles as a mission reward 3 6 10 49.
- Stockpiled supplies: Food, seafood, prepared meals, medicine, fuel, clothing, ammunition, tools, and infant-care products 2 3 6 9 12 49.
- Spring water: Replenishes within her space, attracts mutated plants, and later gains cleansing and healing effects. Xiaomi awakens a light ability after drinking it 20 31 36 46 47.
- Antiques and gold: Collects Huaguo artifacts from criminals and national museums in six countries; considers returning the artifacts if she obtains legitimate employment after the apocalypse 10.
