"Whoa."
False Eye clicked his tongue.
"You'd need tens of thousands of men to catch us."
"Arrest my boss? Come on, try it."
"I've got eighteen lives on my hands. Please, arrest me."
The Lei Zis defiantly blocked their path, protecting Old Ninth.
The lean man's brow furrowed as he began sizing up the Lei Zis.
Every last one was at least at Third Awakening, and the Tyrant Warriors Legion stood nearby, watching like predators.
Forget taking these men down-the Borderlands Police Bureau would be lucky not to get killed themselves.
Knowing he couldn't intimidate them, the man changed tactics.
"Do you know who he is?"
The man pointed at Angtuo on the ground, his fate unknown.
"He's my own son, Angtuo. Don't we look alike?" Old Ninth asked with a straight face. "Are you related to him too?"
The question clearly stumped the man.
Only after a brief pause did he speak.
"His uncle is Kun Sai."
Kun Sai's territory bordered the Dragon Kingdom.
That meant his influence in the Borderlands couldn't be underestimated either.
"If you hadn't said that, I'd have thought you were his uncle," Old Ninth sneered, stepping on Angtuo's face. "Did you know he sells Happy Powder? Did you know he killed people in Tianjin Prefecture?"
"Are you a police bureau chief for the Dragon Kingdom or for Mianbang?"
Under Old Ninth's barrage of questions, the man grew increasingly embarrassed and lowered his head with some guilt.
"Do you know how much trouble his death would bring the people of the Borderlands? These Mianbang people are always causing trouble here. You're giving them an excuse to come after us. Our people will be the ones who suffer."
The lean man shouted with righteous conviction.
"They cause trouble, and instead of arresting them, you protect them?
