After hurrying the whole way, the convoy paid a hefty sum in tolls and entered the city without incident.
Mianbang had no airport, so the men from Chun Prefecture needed to fly home from Borderlands.

With both hands in his pockets, Old Ninth turned sideways and gave Hi Dog a look.
The Lei Zis drew their weapons in unison.
Some went outside to check the surroundings, while others began a swift sweep of the hotel.
"What's wrong?"
Bewildered, Wan'er tugged at Old Ninth's sleeve.
"Don't get it, huh?"
Hi Dog grinned, proudly showing off his experience. "See the front desk? Not a soul there. And every surveillance camera in the hotel has stopped working."
"Someone snuck into the hotel."
Old Ninth kept it brief. "I booked an entire floor before I left. Now the brothers standing guard are gone."
The entire hotel was frighteningly quiet.
A few minutes later, the Lei Zis returned to the lobby one after another.
"Nobody outside, but there's a smell of blood."
"There are signs of a fight in the room across from the hotel."
"We couldn't find the brothers left behind."
