Ch. 541The beast in the gray mist

Ye Buyu and her companions traced the gray mist’s influence to a sealed Star Domain, where they found the Whale of Wailing bound among Planet Remains. While Ye Buyu stayed behind to save it, the others broke into the next Star Domain and confronted the beast behind the gray mist.

  • Ye Buyu interrogated and killed the level-nine Calamity, learning that a Mysterious Being had guided the destruction of Cangyuan and that gray mist had granted the Calamities power.
  • Ye Buyu followed a Red Thread to a field of Planet Remains, where she recognized the dying Whale of Wailing bound by meteorite chains and told the others to pursue a nearby movement while she saved it.
  • Su Wuwei’s group found the next Star Domain sealed, and Lou Guanshan cut through the barrier with his blade.
  • The group encountered a huge Calamity spewing gray mist and attacking a half-destroyed planet; Mu Bingge, Wan Lan, and Kou Ying helped sever its claw and evacuate the planet.
  • Lou Guanshan sensed the anger and life force of the shattered land, then called on it to awaken and fight.

Ch. 542Chaos that overturned everything

Su Wuwei, Wan Lan, Mu Bingge, Kou Ying, and Lou Guanshan battered the Gray Mist beast without giving it a chance to unleash its Law-Dissolution Tree. After the roots disrupted Kou Ying’s energy and a survivor explained their danger, Wan Lan and Su Wuwei began attacking the tree from a distance.

  • Su Wuwei dropped a star on the Gray Mist beast, but it summoned the Law-Dissolution Tree to block the attack and tried to escape.
  • Wan Lan detected the beast, struck it with an arrow and a kick, and Su Wuwei, Mu Bingge, Kou Ying, and Lou Guanshan repeatedly knocked it around to stop it gathering power.
  • The beast demanded a one-on-one fight and tried to provoke the group, but they mocked it and continued wearing it down.
  • The beast unleashed its roots, and Kou Ying warned that they could disrupt the energy inside their bodies.
  • A survivor explained that the roots caused internal chaos and could even disorder the world's rules.
  • Wan Lan bombarded the roots with windstorm arrows, and Su Wuwei began burning them with Golden Flame.

Ch. 543Déjà vu

Su Wuwei and the others trapped the Gray Mist behemoth while Ye Buyu rescued the World-Remnant Aggregate and hurried to join the fight. She exposed and pinned the hidden beast with her Double-Edged Spear, leaving it restrained and demanding to know what it was.

  • The behemoth fled into the Gray Mist, so Mu Bingge spread Water Mirrors across the Star Domain to block its escape while Su Wuwei sealed the area with flames.
  • Ye Buyu used her power to revive the dying World-Remnant Aggregate and struck it with a whale-shaped Soul Shock to keep it awake.
  • Ye Buyu crossed the Star Domain Barrier into the Water Mirror blockade and found the behemoth.
  • Ye Buyu pierced the behemoth with her Double-Edged Spear, exposing the Gray Mist and suppressing its power.
  • The behemoth demanded to know who Ye Buyu was, and she asked it the same question.

Ch. 544The [Chaos] Beast

Ye Buyu forced the Calamity [Chaos] to reveal that [Fate] had directed the destruction of Cangyuan and planned to target Withered Star. Ye Buyu and her allies fought to kill [Chaos], with Wan Lan piercing its skull as the battle continued.

  • Ye Buyu restrained [Chaos] and compelled it to reveal its name and explain that the Gray Mist was the Whispers of Fate, used by [Fate].
  • [Chaos] confessed that [Fate] had marked the neighboring Star Domain for destruction and that Withered Star was its next target because a threat had emerged there.
  • Rong Fan recognized that [Chaos] meant to attack Withered Star, while [Chaos] identified him as a threat and the group prepared to kill it.
  • Ye Buyu, Su Wuwei, Wan Lan, and the others attacked [Chaos], and Wan Lan condemned its destruction of civilizations and vowed to start by killing it.
  • Kou Ying blocked [Chaos]'s attacks on the remains of the planet, while the beast failed to escape the silver weapon or summon the Whispers of Fate.
  • Wan Lan pierced [Chaos]'s skull as the wind tore through its brain, and [Chaos] cried that it did not want to die.

Ch. 545A group beating

[Chaos] abandoned its body and tried to possess Wan Lan, but she trapped it in her Mindscape with Ye Buyu and the others. After beating it into surrender, they learned its Divine Status had created it and that Whispers of Fate had guided it to become [Chaos].

  • [Chaos] fled its body through its Divine Status and entered Wan Lan, but she confronted it in her Mindscape.
  • Ye Buyu and the others joined Wan Lan and took turns beating [Chaos] until it surrendered and offered to give up its Divine Status.
  • Wan Lan found that the Divine Status was too hard to crush and seemed unusually ownerless, so they questioned [Chaos] about it.
  • [Chaos] explained that the Divine Status had brought it into being and that Whispers of Fate had guided it to form a body.
  • [Chaos] said it had wanted to create a world without rules or order and destroy planets because it found doing so fun.

Ch. 546The Cruel, Merciless Reality

Ye Buyu and the others decided they could only seal [Chaos] for now and hurried to establish the Salvation Hall of Fame as Calamities threatened the world. They helped the survivors of a half-destroyed planet plan a migration to the Elf Star Domain and urged them to build their own force against Calamities.

  • Ye Buyu learned that [Chaos] had destroyed civilizations for fun and chose to seal it away while Wan Lan tried to absorb a piece of divine status.
  • After the group returned from the Mindscape, the giant beast outside turned to ash, and Ye Buyu insisted they establish the Salvation Hall of Fame without delay.
  • A survivor questioned whether his people should become Calamities, and Su Wuwei warned him of their endless cycle of suffering and urged them to keep struggling as humans.
  • Ye Buyu offered the survivors uninhabited planets in the Elf Star Domain, provided they cooperated with the elves who had also suffered a disaster.
  • Cangyuan offered a training program for Awakened, and Rong Fan gave the survivor Withered Star's contact information while urging the survivors to become self-sufficient.

Ch. 547Let's split up

Ye Buyu and her teammates split up to pursue their own goals after discovering the mastermind behind Cangyuan Star’s destruction, while Little Whale and Ku Rong learned that the group had gone into the past. The chapter leaves Little Whale remembering the Star Domain’s flourishing days before the Calamity struck.

  • Ye Buyu proposed that the team split up, and Mu Bingge marked her shoulder so the others could locate her if she was in danger.
  • Wan Lan planned to study the Calamity and help with the migration, while Su Wuwei, Lou Guanshan, and Mu Bingge set off on their own routes.
  • Ye Buyu flew onto the Whale of Wailing’s head and took it with her because its condition was unstable.
  • Little Whale panicked after the group vanished, then called Ku Rong for help.
  • Wu Yan told Ku Rong and Little Whale that Ye Buyu and the others had gone to their past, while the group was in their future.
  • Little Whale recalled the Star Domain’s prosperity and the geniuses who had investigated its changing energy before the Calamity broke out.

Ch. 548Everyday Life at the Salvation Hall of Fame

Little Whale recalled the destruction of its civilization and how it became the Whale of Wailing, then joined the others in speculating about Ye Buyu and the nature of time. Their conversation was interrupted by a furious child demanding to know where Little Ye and the others had been taken.

  • Little Whale recounted how its civilization forged the Whale of Wailing from souls and planets to fight [Chaos], and how a blow from the Whale-Head Health-Preserving Mallet later shaped its form.
  • Little Whale realized that its musings had been broadcast over the Multiplayer Channel, and Ku Rong pointed it toward Wu Yan for answers about time.
  • Wu Yan said her lead had gone cold and suggested that the being who controlled time was someone other than the Hall Master; Ying Ruxing recognized who she meant.
  • Dream of Notes, Suiyang, Ku Rong, and Little Wan joined the conversation, while Ku Rong urged them to focus on the battlefield and Little Whale continued wondering what Ye Buyu was.
  • A child arrived with an enormous mouth and demanded to know where Little Ye and the others had been taken, and Little Whale reacted in shock upon seeing the soul beneath the creature’s appearance.

Ch. 549Let Out for Some Air

Little Whale encountered the children’s souls searching for Ye Buyu, while the Salvation Hall of Fame discussed letting [War] and other sealed Calamities loose to weaken the world’s Calamity factions. The battle between [Fear] and [War] continued as Wu Yan set out for Rift’s Original Base.

  • Little Whale blocked the children’s souls, learned they were looking for Little Ye, and persuaded them to wait for Ye Buyu to return.
  • Little Whale told Ku Rong that it would not fight its own people and suggested [War] should be weakened in the conflict.
  • Water Mirror asked whether they should protect The One Leading Rift, but Little Whale said they should let her weaken [War].
  • Ying Ruxing agreed that the sealed monsters should be let out to remind the Calamities and Civilizations of their danger.
  • Wu Yan left for Rift’s Original Base to follow the trail, while Suiyang watched the battle and devoured its spilling energy.
  • [Fear] removed the ribbon over her eyes and fought [War], whose attacks were weakened and whose opponents had fled.

Ch. 550[Silence] erupted

Weier abandoned her plan to leave and joined [Fear] in fighting [War], revealing herself as the [Silence] of living beings. The Star Domain collapsed around them as the battle resumed, while spectators watched from the Primordial Beginning Tower and Lan Huaiyu reported that Hold Up the Heavens had lost contact.

  • Weier chose to fight [War] instead of leaving, unleashing a barrage of punches that forced it backward.
  • [Fear] used Eye of Fear to distract [War], allowing Weier to land a blow that sent it through the Star Domain's barrier and caused the domain to collapse.
  • [War] identified Weier as the [Silence] of living beings, and Weier explained that silence could be a survival choice rather than a weakness.
  • Weier and [Fear] agreed to keep fighting [War], with [Fear] declaring that she would continue influencing it unless it conquered its fear.
  • Suiyang and the Primordial Beginning Tower's spectators reacted to the destruction, while Lan Huaiyu said Hold Up the Heavens had lost contact and decided not to show them the battle.

Ch. 551Hold Up the Heavens, Up to No Good

The Four Seats of Judgment watched a battle and asked Wind-Thunder, Blue Sea, Little White, and Those Without a Home about Hold Up the Heavens. Their accounts left the group stunned by how strangely and dangerously the organization had affected each of them.

  • The Annihilation Seat told Wind-Thunder that the Salvation Hall of Fame had released its prisoners, while the Four Seats watched the battle from Judgment.
  • The Slaughter Seat asked Mie and the others whether Hold Up the Heavens had shown anything unusual.
  • Blue Sea and Those Without a Home directed the Four Seats to ask Wind-Thunder about his repeated encounters with Hold Up the Heavens.
  • Wind-Thunder recounted how he repeatedly failed to defeat Hold Up the Heavens, eventually going undercover as its number-one turncoat.
  • Little White said Hold Up the Heavens operated on him and Blue Sea, making Little White explode and slicing them open with a saber.
  • Those Without a Home said Hold Up the Heavens taught souls a method for becoming a Calamity, leaving the group to call them mad geniuses.

Ch. 552An uninvited guest

The Four Seats learned from Wind-Thunder how dangerous Hold Up the Heavens could be, while a butterfly-like Calamity called [Delusion] slipped into the Present World. [Delusion] attacked an explorer but was met with soul potato grenades.

  • Wind-Thunder told the Four Seats that Hold Up the Heavens had risen from second tier to eighth tier in two years and warned that their next advancement could trigger a catastrophic fight.
  • The Four Seats doubted Wind-Thunder’s fears, while Blue Sea and the other Calamities began to understand the danger.
  • A girl at the Calamity Observation Station noticed a possible flash of red light on the monitoring instruments.
  • A butterfly carrying [Delusion] crossed the Allied Army’s border defenses and searched the wilderness for prey.
  • [Delusion] trapped an exploration squad’s perception specialist and offered them power in exchange for their soul, but the explorer attacked with soul potato grenades.

Ch. 553[Delusion] attacks

Explorers fled after the Third Astral Detector identified [Delusion] and bombarded it with a Soul Electromagnetic Cannon. Xiao Shuo and Yu Qin captured the intruding Calamity, and Yu Qin began questioning its connection to the Salvation Hall of Fame.

  • The Third Astral Detector targeted [Delusion] with a Soul Electromagnetic Cannon, forcing the explorers to flee the blast zone.
  • Xiao Shuo left Yu Qin to guard the fortress and rushed to confront [Delusion].
  • Xiao Shuo attacked [Delusion] before it could question him, while it tried to communicate and then attempted to escape.
  • Yu Qin used a soul marker and a sealing net to help Xiao Shuo trap [Delusion] in shackles, and Xiao Shuo added several Seals.
  • Yu Qin asked [Delusion] its name and noted its mention of the Salvation Hall of Fame.

Ch. 554Sword of Judgment

After [Delusion] was captured at the End of the World, Wind-Thunder learned that the Fourteenth Tier Calamity could open a gate for other Calamities and threaten its homeland. The Annihilation Seat showed Wind-Thunder the Sword of Judgment’s hilt, whose burning script spelled Hold Up the Heavens.

  • Xiao Shuo sent Wei Changming an update about the captured [Delusion], and Wei Changming forwarded it to Wind-Thunder.
  • Wind-Thunder told the Four Seats that [Delusion] had appeared at the End of the World, prompting the Butchery Seat to seek the Salvation Hall of Fame and the Killing Seat to warn of the threat.
  • The Killing Seat explained that [Delusion] was a Fourteenth Tier Calamity that could keep a gate to the void open, potentially allowing other Fourteenth Tier Calamities to destroy the End of the World.
  • Wind-Thunder decided to return to its homeland through Judgment’s portal, and the Slaughter Seat urged it to trust Hold Up the Heavens.
  • The Annihilation Seat took Wind-Thunder to the Sword of Judgment’s hilt, where Wind-Thunder recognized the burning script as Hold Up the Heavens.

Ch. 555A Frantic Pursuit of Pleasure

Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan investigated a Calamity outbreak on a planet where people pursued dangerous pleasures while their souls were drawn to the Paradise of Fallen Pleasure. After meeting an Awakened man, they learned he believed the planet was beyond saving and urged them to leave.

  • Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan entered a planet drained by a purple vortex and found its people making no effort to resist.
  • A multicolored-haired boy invited them into a reckless race, and Su Wuwei stopped the vehicle after seeing dead humans' souls rise toward the vortex.
  • In the city, Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan encountered rampant crime and pleasure-seeking, while a woman explained that the dead willingly belonged to the Paradise of Fallen Pleasure.
  • Lou Guanshan warned the woman that the Paradise would turn their souls into Abyss Filth, but she rejected his concern and said she only wanted excitement.
  • A man in a tall hat transported Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan to his home and advised them to leave because the planet had brought its ruin upon itself.

Ch. 556[Fallen Pleasure]

Lou Guanshan and Su Wuwei learned how [Fallen Pleasure] arose from exploitation and spread across the star domain. They chose to fight the calamity and its perpetrators, asking the man to evacuate the walled city.

  • Lou Guanshan asked the man to explain [Fallen Pleasure], and the man described it as a calamity born from humanity’s pursuit of pleasure amid exploitation.
  • The man explained that ordinary people knew their souls would be drained but could not imagine resistance, while those inside the walls exploited them as calamities or sacrifices.
  • The man said the ruling people spread their resource farms to other planets, restricted knowledge, and turned the entire star domain into an incubator for [Fallen Pleasure].
  • Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan decided to kill [Fallen Pleasure] and the people responsible for the disaster.
  • Lou Guanshan told the man to gather those still capable of resisting and evacuate the walled city before they struck.

Ch. 557Extinction began

Su Wuwei warned the people inside the walled city that it would be destroyed in an hour, then attacked [Fallen Pleasure] in space. As the battle began to shake the star domain, the walled city’s leaders ordered its weapons and fighters mobilized against him.

  • Su Wuwei warned the walled city’s inhabitants to evacuate within an hour, and the man who heard him fired the agreed signal and urged his comrades to seal the city.
  • People in tall hats began leaving the walled city while others mocked the warning or considered taking shelter.
  • Su Wuwei left Lou Guanshan to watch the city and attacked the level-twelve [Fallen Pleasure] with his burning blade.
  • [Fallen Pleasure] awoke, gathered the souls it had consumed, and attacked Su Wuwei with laughter and distorted vortices as his strikes sent destructive energy across the star domain.
  • People across the affected planets suffered from the battle’s shock waves, while some residents inside the walled city began fleeing in panic.
  • The walled city’s leader ordered its weapons activated, demanded that warships and hidden forces attack Su Wuwei, and arranged a fighter to take him outside the city.

Ch. 558The Mistaken [Fallen Pleasure]

Lou Guanshan destroyed Encirclement City and its warships while Su Wuwei fought [Fallen Pleasure] across the planets. As the calamity died, it learned it was a man-made creation, while the planet it had consumed remained dead.

  • People trapped in Encirclement City tried to flee, but the tall-hatted defenders blocked the exits and attacked them.
  • Lou Guanshan killed the escaping man and his bodyguard, then destroyed the warships with his Mo Dao.
  • Lou Guanshan used Rock Blade to crush Encirclement City, while people outside escaped and learned that only the city was being destroyed.
  • Lou Guanshan headed to other planets as Su Wuwei weakened [Fallen Pleasure] by severing its vortex and burning its Calamity Power.
  • Su Wuwei told [Fallen Pleasure] it was a mistaken creation, and the dying calamity learned it was man-made before its final defeat.

Ch. 559The Right [Streetlamp]

After [Fallen Pleasure] died, the dying inhabitants of its planets chose to become a Man-Made Calamity and leave their final wishes behind. Their shared longing for warmth shaped a familiar orange streetlamp, leaving a new Calamity beginning to form.

  • As [Fallen Pleasure] died, its power vanished and most humans who had become Calamities began to disappear.
  • Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan realized the lingering Calamity Power could give rise to another Calamity.
  • Lou Guanshan asked the dying inhabitants whether they would become a Calamity that fought against Calamities and preserve their wills.
  • The inhabitants raised signals and voiced wishes for their oppressors to vanish, for a better world, and for their loved ones’ hopes to come true.
  • As the inhabitants died, their shared memories of warmth converged into the shape of an orange streetlamp familiar to Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan.

Ch. 560A Familiar "Face"

Su Wuwei and Lou Guanshan accidentally brought [Streetlamp] into being and decided to take it with them. At the Elf Star Domain, Kou Ying defeated the forces controlling [Trickery] and learned how a mysterious power had plunged two planets into turmoil.

  • Su Wuwei gave [Streetlamp] a burning wick made from the remains of its creators’ dead planet, lighting its first flame.
  • [Streetlamp] gave Su Wuwei a spark containing remnants of planetary wills, then followed him and Lou Guanshan toward the Elf Star Domain.
  • Kou Ying subdued the forces around the devastated planet, and the liberated Sky-Supporting Umbrella drifted away from him.
  • Kou Ying questioned a captured one-eyed general, who explained how research into a mysterious power had fueled conflict between two planets.
  • Kou Ying refused to rule the planets and said their people were fortunate he had not found them scheming against innocents or fighting for power.
