A light rain fell from the sky, while the sun still shone in half of it, the two mingling in the light.
When Xu Ye and Chen Man reached the deck, they heard a crowd shouting, "They're throwing out a dead body! A dead body!"
There were too many people, so Xu Ye peered into the distance. He happened to see a bearded, middle-aged man in black tossing a corpse wrapped in a bedsheet over the railing.
"What are you staring at? Get lost!" the middle-aged man roared, his face full of sorrow. "My wife had been gravely ill for a long time. Her lifelong wish was to sail aboard the Parrot before she died, and have me throw her body into the sea afterward."
"Rest in peace, darling. I'll take good care of your parents."
The middle-aged man knelt on the deck and sobbed uncontrollably.
"So that's what happened. I knew it. The Parrot was blessed by a priest. Nothing could possibly go wrong with it." Chen Man breathed a sigh of relief.
Was it really just a dead body he had thrown overboard?
Xu Ye did not know.
But Bandit Lord had clearly sensed a faint aura of contamination coming from the corpse the instant the man threw it overboard.
"Judging by its weight, that wasn't an ordinary woman's body. He tied stones or some other weights to it. Heh." Bandit Lord chuckled.
"Xu Kid, be careful. This cruise ship reeks of the uncanny everywhere. I don't think this is anything simple."
Xu Ye nodded.
Under the Holy Grail's influence, manipulated by a deity, everything seemed to happen in the guise of coincidence.
He was just about to return to the deck when he caught a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye.
Ivy!
