Xu Ye used his heart’s simulations and Alice’s scouting to find and kill an underground Shenchuan Family assassin while trying to protect the wounded Li Yunyao. More Shenchuan Family attackers then struck from range and closed in, leaving Xu Ye, Li Yunyao, and Mo Bei surrounded.

• Xu Ye’s heart showed him futures in which Li Yunyao was severely injured and captured, so he asked Alice to search underground.
• Alice found a Shenchuan Family assassin beneath Xu Ye, and Xu Ye killed him with a blade attached to his tentacle.
• Xu Ye closed his umbrella to draw out the distant attackers, and one sent a poisoned blade toward Li Yunyao, who deflected it with her Sword Domain.
• Xu Ye fired three shots at the attacker’s position, but growing branches blocked the bullets and an eye appeared in a tree trunk.
• Xu Ye realized that three more Shenchuan Family assassins were attacking, including a tall shadow approaching from behind.

Xu Ye drew the Gray Giant away from Li Yunyao and Mo Bei while fighting to survive, leaving the others to face the Human-Faced Tree. Li Yunyao discovered that Mo Bei was a spy for the Shenchuan Family and attacked him.

• The Gray Giant attacked Xu Ye, while Li Yunyao's sword failed to pierce his rock-hard skin and Mo Bei tackled her out of danger.
• Xu Ye dodged the Gray Giant, the Human-Faced Tree, and flying blades, then told Mo Bei to take the injured Li Yunyao back to the valley.
• Xu Ye fled into the night to draw the Gray Giant after him, and Shenchuan Qian followed.

Mo Bei revealed that he had been working against the Shenchuan Family and killed Shenchuan Mu, while Li Yunyao learned that Xu Ye had known the truth. Back in the valley, Shen Xinghai exposed Simon as a spy, and Simon took Dusha hostage and begged to be allowed to escape.

• Mo Bei broke Li Yunyao’s sword, then told Shenchuan Mu she could be kept as leverage against Xu Ye.
• Mo Bei used Sequence Talent 9-009 [Five-Sense Distortion] to disorient Shenchuan Mu and stab him to death.
• Li Yunyao asked Mo Bei why he had acted, and he confirmed that Xu Ye had known all along.

• Zhao Haili transferred her mind into Dusha and struck Simon, but Simon swallowed poison and died before she could stop him.
• Mo Bei returned with the injured Li Yunyao and confessed that he was the Shenchuan Family’s other spy.
• Mo Bei said a Silver Noble from Sky City had hired the Shenchuan Family to kill Xu Ye, and that the family also planned to destroy Crimson.

Mo Bei revealed his allegiance to the Eternal Church and escaped, while Xu Ye and Alice realized the church had manipulated events around them. At Lakeheart Court, Senior Red Dragon warned Yang Chang that his actions and thoughts might be part of a clumsy script.

• Lu Mingwang confronted Mo Bei over joining the Eternal Church, but Mo Bei escaped in black mist and declared that the church claimed responsibility.
• Xu Ye told Alice how he had deduced Mo Bei's hidden abilities and suspected that Mo Bei had tried to warn him.
• Alice questioned why Xu Ye had focused on the Cliff Forbidden Zone, and they realized the Eternal Church might have manipulated their choices and recent events.

At Heroic Spirit Mountain, Meng Chengfei and the Dawn Squad executed Zhou Kun, an Eternal Church member who had helped cause the tragedy that killed their loved ones ten years earlier. In the wilderness, Xu Ye discovered that his heart could speak and was stealing energy from his Psionic Block, while his pursuers planned to capture him alive for the Shenchuan Family.

• Meng Chengfei commemorated the fallen members of the Dawn Blade Ninth Squad and executed Zhou Kun for spreading rumors that had caused chaos in Night Spirit City.
• Old Zheng said Li Kang was hiding in the Cliff Forbidden Zone and warned that the Eternal Church might target Night Spirit City again.
• Xu Ye rested at an abandoned Gas Station and reasoned that he needed to lure his two Sequence 8 pursuers into the Forbidden Zone.

Xu Ye learned that his sentient heart was the Bandit Lord and that his sequence was the unique Blasphemer Sequence. When the heart warned him that two enemies were approaching, Xu Ye fled and headed toward a nearby Scavenger team.

• Xu Ye and Alice questioned the heart, which claimed to be a supreme being and offered to predict the future in exchange for energy.
• The heart bargained with Xu Ye, listing its abilities and identifying his Sequence 9-666 as [Mayfly] and Sequence 8-666 as [Shadow Play].

The chapter left Xu Ye at their camp as the Bandit Lord urged him to steal their truck, weapons, and the bold girl.

• Ye Meng warned Xu Ye to avoid high-radiation zones, flee from strange events, and trust no one in the wilderness.
• Ye Meng demonstrated the mechanical exoskeleton on his arm and explained its combat advantages and high cost.
• Xu Ye noticed Xiao Yu's crude mechanical limbs as her mother scolded her for eating meat and ordered her to wash her brother's clothes.

• Ye Meng questioned Xu Ye and warned Ye Weiyang that he might be a dangerous outsider, while Ye Shan disparaged him.
• The Bandit Lord told Xu Ye that the Sanctuary was a major Wastelander power connected to Doctor Chen and said Ye Weiyang was destined to awaken a high-tier sequence.

As Xu Ye prepared to leave, Bandit Lord warned him that corruption was coming from Xiao Yu’s mangled corpse, and Xu Ye pretended not to notice.

• Ye Meng’s group found Xiao Yu dead after a noble’s gunfire struck her, while her mother fretted over bloodstained clothes.
• Lin Ge tossed the woman money and insulted her, while another noble burned Ye Meng’s tent and forced the group to pack up.

After a bodyguard encountered Xiao Yu’s reanimated corpse, Xu Ye ambushed Lin Ge’s group and killed Zhao Ge, an Awakened whose Sequence Talent let him glimpse the near future. As the others waited outside, Xiao Yu’s face emerged from Lin Ge’s Thunder Serpent.

• A bodyguard found Xiao Yu’s corpse moving and saw silvery liquid pour from her eyes before he screamed.
• Wade saw the bodyguard as a split-headed monster, but Lin Ge and the others dismissed his warning as drunken hallucination.
• Lin Ge spotted Xu Ye hiding nearby and called him out, then Zhao Ge attacked Xu Ye with a prayer bead that exploded.
• Xu Ye lured Zhao Ge into the abandoned service area, used Alice’s possession to overpower him, and killed him with the Black Blade.

• A powerful Tier 3 Aberrant’s energy surged outside, and its enormous mechanical arm smashed through the wall toward Xu Ye, Shenchuan Qian, and Jiang Qiang.

Xu Ye and his companions faced Xiao Yu’s powerful Aberration, escaping its contamination at severe cost before Xu Ye fought Shenchuan Qian. The battle took a shocking turn when Jiang Qiang betrayed Shenchuan Qian and began eating his intestines.

• Xiao Yu’s Aberration attacked Xu Ye, Shenchuan Qian, and Jiang Qiang with silvery metal and visions that nearly contaminated them.
• Xu Ye escaped using the Blasphemer's Diagram, while Shenchuan Qian sacrificed his left leg and Jiang Qiang tore free of the metal by breaking his left hand.
• Shenchuan Qian attacked Xu Ye with poisoned throwing knives, but Xu Ye struck back and broke both of his arms.
• Jiang Qiang arrived, punched Shenchuan Qian in the abdomen, and stabbed him while claiming he would blame Xu Ye for the death.
• Jiang Qiang cut open Shenchuan Qian’s belly and ate his intestines, horrifying Xu Ye, Bandit Lord, and Alice.

Xu Ye faced the transformed Jiang Qiang, who revealed his devotion to the Harvest Mother Goddess and tried to recruit him to prepare for her descent. Xu Ye resisted Jiang Qiang’s control and struck him with the God-Slaying Soulbeam, freeing Xiao Yu before collapsing from exhaustion.

• Jiang Qiang finished eating Shenchuan Qian and regrew his severed arm from golden rice stalks.
• Jiang Qiang revealed that he served the Harvest Mother Goddess and claimed the Shenchuan Family would host her descent into the New World.
• Jiang Qiang used his [Sense of Belonging] talent to make Xu Ye believe they were family, but Xu Ye broke free with Alice’s warning.

He chose to continue toward the Forbidden Zone and returned to camp, where Ye Shan gave him a grilled fish before realizing Xu Ye had tricked him.

• Xu Ye used Soul-Seizing on Jiang Qiang’s fragments and saw a vision of a gigantic iron tower covered in pieces of human skin, but stopped before the vision could kill him.

When dangerous fog fell over Praying Water Town, Xu Ye went outside with Meng Chengfei while Ye Meng’s group sought shelter near the Factory and discovered the freshly stripped bones of a Giant Wolf.

• Meng Chengfei explained the growing factions and said he had come to Praying Water Town to investigate Li Kang and check on Xu Ye.
• When fog covered the town, the Apartment’s waiter warned everyone not to go outside, and the owner refused to send anyone to rescue those still out there.
• Xu Ye simulated going outside, heard warnings about a hospital and the Factory, then chose to accompany Meng Chengfei and gave Ye Weiyang a protective Seal Talisman.
• Ye Meng led three Ye Family men toward the Factory, but sudden fog and fierce wind forced them to seek shelter there.

• Ye Meng and Ye Zhong saw the horror-film crew decapitated inside a factory and froze at its entrance with their companions.
• Meng Chengfei and Xu Ye crossed the foggy town, where Xu Ye cut down a grotesque headless creature that Meng Chengfei burned with a Taboo Object.
• Meng Chengfei identified the abandoned hospital as the source of the resentful spirits and souls circling overhead.
