"Ding! Your auction listing has been purchased by a player for 30,000 yuan. After deducting a commission of 4,500 yuan, the remaining 25,500 yuan has been transferred to your linked bank account."
"What the fuck? Why did the price go up?" Wu Shaozhen opened the transaction history in surprise. "That makes no sense!" Logically, the second piece of equipment should have been worth less than the first, especially since the first had been a weapon. So why had the price gone up instead? He simply couldn't figure it out. He had nearly listed it at a fixed price of 15,000 yuan, too. Thank goodness he hadn't.
He quickly checked his bank balance and grinned foolishly at the 43,200 yuan sitting there. Not to brag, but he had never seen so much money in his life. It really felt like a fucking dream.
Bang!
While Wu Shaozhen was lost in his fantasies, a bang rang out, and he went flying into a tree. Stars appeared above his head as he was stunned for one second.

"Fuck, you ambushed me!" Wu Shaozhen cursed. He had been so busy staring at his money that he had forgotten he was fighting monsters. After killing so many wild boars, he had finally gotten a taste of Brutal Charge.
While Wu Shaozhen was stunned, the wild boar rammed him again.

Luckily, Wu Shaozhen now had 230 HP. If he had still been level 3, he would already have been sent back to the village. Dying in the Novice Village didn't cost levels, but it did cost equipment, and death in Oracle guaranteed an equipment drop. With equipment worth so much now, losing even a single piece would have broken his heart.
Wu Shaozhen turned around, slashed the wild boar once, and ran off, cursing all the while. "That fucking hurt! Even with pain set to 5%, it still hurts this much? Did it hit my kidney?" He glared at the wild boar following him. You're dead.
After enduring two minutes of Wu Shaozhen's poison and verbal abuse, the wild boar was finally put out of its misery. It also dropped two copper coins, a tusk, and a piece of equipment.
"Oh? Another equipment drop already? Must be compensation." He picked it up and took a look.

His armor slots were basically filled now, all with boar gear. Too bad it wasn't a set. It seemed wild boars didn't drop accessories, but that didn't matter. Attack wasn't much use to Wu Shaozhen; armor was far more appealing.
Looking at his stats, Wu Shaozhen frowned. They still weren't enough to fight wild wolves. But now that he had all his armor equipped, he could only improve by leveling up, which would defeat the purpose.
Wu Shaozhen did the calculations again. Wild wolves had 4,000 HP, and his poison currently dealt 16 damage per second, so he would need to apply it five times to kill one. That meant taking five hits. Normal attacks were no problem. After subtracting his defense, he would take only 98 damage. With his current regeneration of 2 HP per second, 50 seconds would be enough to recover. A skill attack would deal 155 damage, which was still manageable. The real problem was triggering bleed. While bleeding, he wouldn't count as being out of combat. He would have to wait another ten seconds after the bleeding stopped before his HP started regenerating, leaving only 40 seconds to recover-just 80 HP. In that case, he would have to use a potion.
Looking at the six small red potions in his bag, Wu Shaozhen made up his mind. "Screw it! I'll drink potions if I have to. Every kill counts. Even one extra point for my talent is worth it."
Having decided, Wu Shaozhen immediately got up and headed toward the wolf area. He soon crossed the Boar Forest and reached the Wild Wolf Plains, where the packs of wild wolves made him nervous.
Luring monsters took skill, too. Without knowing their aggro range, pulling out exactly one was quite difficult. Fortunately, Wu Shaozhen was now much faster than the wild wolves. If he pulled too many, he could just run back to the Boar Forest. Once he left their territory, they would stop chasing him.
Wu Shaozhen approached the nearest few wild wolves step by step, trying to lure one out. He soon entered their aggro range, and four or five wild wolves came chasing after him at once.
"Fuck! So many!" Wu Shaozhen hurried back into the Boar Forest. It took quite a while before the wolves slowly wandered back.
Wu Shaozhen kept trying like this. After more than ten minutes and who knew how many attempts, he finally found one stupid wolf that followed him out alone.
Wu Shaozhen gave the approaching wolf a nightmarish grin, raised his sword, and slashed.

Perhaps insulted by Wu Shaozhen's grin, the wild wolf immediately sank its teeth into him with a bite attack.
-155 "Ding! You are bleeding, losing 5 HP per second for 10 seconds."
"Motherfucker..." Wu Shaozhen felt like cursing up a storm. What kind of rotten luck was this? It had triggered on the very first hit.
Wu Shaozhen hurried away. As he led the wolf around in circles, he took a red potion out of his bag and drank it with a pained expression. These things had such a low drop rate. Every bottle he drank was one less in his stock.
He timed it carefully and struck the wild wolf again just before the poison expired. The wolf swiped back with a claw. Thank goodness, thank goodness. Not a skill, Wu Shaozhen thought with relief.
Unfortunately, his happiness didn't last long. On his third attack, he was bitten again, and to his misfortune, it triggered bleed again.
"Isn't the bleed chance supposed to be 50%? Why the fuck does it trigger every time?" Gritting his teeth, he drank another red potion. Two potions for one wild wolf-what a terrible deal.
The fourth hit was a normal attack, so he got through it safely. The fifth was a bite, but luckily it didn't trigger bleed. Actually, even if the last hit had triggered bleed, he wouldn't have needed another potion. At worst, he could just wait a little longer before pulling the next wolf.
Soon, the first wild wolf died bitterly and collapsed to the ground.
"Ding! You killed [Wild Wolf] and gained 40 EXP. For killing a monster five levels above you, you gained an additional 20 EXP." "Ding! Talent effect triggered. Poison damage increased by 1."
It had been so long since he had heard that notification. He really missed it. Although he had wasted two red potions, hearing that sound made it all feel worthwhile.
He ran over to the wolf's corpse and found that it was actually quite generous, dropping four copper coins and a Wolf Claw. Its description was the same as the wild boar tusk's. Once he returned to the village, he would check whether there was a quest he could turn them in for.
But these wolves give a bit too much EXP. At this rate, I'll level up after six more kills. That means I can only raise my talent by another six points at most. So annoying. Why give so much EXP?
He began luring monsters again. Fortunately, it went fairly quickly this time. Pulling one wolf out of that group earlier had left a gap, making it easy to lure another one out.
With his talent damage up to 17, he only needed to attack four times to kill a wild wolf, saving him one hit. Unfortunately, Wu Shaozhen's luck was still lousy. Of the four hits he took, three were skill attacks, and two also inflicted bleed. He could only drink another two red potions with a heavy heart, cursing the wolf's entire family.
The wild wolf fell, and his talent increased by another point, reaching 18. But looking at the two potions remaining in his bag, Wu Shaozhen didn't dare continue. If three of the four hits were skill attacks that inflicted bleed, wouldn't he be done for? The odds might be low, but Wu Shaozhen felt they were pretty high when it came to him. He felt as though the central AI had nothing but malice toward him.
Forget it. I'll go back to the village and buy some potions. He had no interest in farming wild boars anymore. If he was going to farm anything, it would be wild wolves. Looking at the two hundred-odd copper coins in his bag, Wu Shaozhen thought, Once I buy more potions, I'll farm right here. I've got money to burn.
