In the middle and later stages of the Godforsaken Game's cycle.

"Fixed defense" was an attribute that provided tremendous durability, because almost everyone could stack their defense and resistance penetration to 100% in the late game.

Take Qin Feng, for example.

Qin Feng currently had 32.6 million physical defense. Suppose a player had a base damage of 1 million.

Without any defense penetration, that player could only deal 30.7 damage to Qin Feng.

With 90% defense penetration, that player could deal 306.6 damage to Qin Feng.

With 99% defense penetration, that player could deal 3,058.1 damage to Qin Feng.

But with 100% defense penetration, that player could deal the full 1 million damage to Qin Feng!

This was what Qin Feng had mentioned very early on, shortly after entering the game: the most important thing for dealing damage in the Godforsaken Game was to first reach a full 100% penetration.

Even falling just 1% short made an enormous difference in the returns.

And reaching 100% penetration was only the foundation. As equipment levels and tiers rose, players would all acquire the "fixed defense" attribute.

The "fixed defense" attribute limited the target's penetration effects.

For example, Qin Feng currently had 70% fixed defense. No matter how much penetration his opponent had, even if it was 100%, only a maximum of 30% penetration could take effect.

Using the same example, with Qin Feng's 70% fixed defense, an opponent with 1 million base damage could only deal a maximum of 43.81 damage to him.

That was the function of fixed defense!

But if...

If his opponent had 50% Fixed Defense Ignore, just like Qin Feng did now, then 50% would be deducted from Qin Feng's 70% fixed defense, leaving only 20% effective. In the end, the opponent could deal 153.32 damage to Qin
