"Another one..."
After drifting for a while, Ye Fei finally descended safely from the clouds to the ground.
Then all he could do was search beneath some dried-out bushes for whatever fruit might be there.
There were no hints at all, but after looking around, he found nothing except bushes that crumbled at a touch and some fruit buried underground that he could dig up.
When he dug up the first one, nothing unusual happened as he held it. But when he dug up the second and picked it up, the first one vanished.
This seemed to be telling him that he could only choose one.
But he had no information about any of them, and no matter how much spiritual energy he gathered in his eyes, no hints appeared.
After trying several times and confirming that he could never pick up a second one, whether they were the same color or not, Ye Fei simply stopped agonizing over it.
He lifted the one in his hand and put it straight into his mouth. He would eat it first and worry about the rest later.
"Sweet..."
As the first fruit entered his mouth, Ye Fei tasted a faint sweetness.
He waited a while, and once he was sure there were no other effects, he went for the second one.
Sweet, sour, fragrant and sweet, sweet and sour...
None tasted particularly bad. They were mostly somewhere between edible and delicious.
Unsure what the trial was or how to get out, Ye Fei indulged in a rare bit of play as he ate, guessing the flavor before each bite and then checking whether he had guessed right...
Just as Ye Fei was enjoying himself, Lingyan entered at the highest point of this space.
