Chapters 476–500 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 476Ye Fei laughed, Long Heng cried

After refining the tribulation lightning, Ye Fei discovered that his attributes and combat power had risen dramatically, though he remained at Foundation Establishment third stage. Long Heng finally hatched, but his appearance and weapons left him crying and protesting.

  • Ye Fei reviewed his enhancement notifications and saw that his combat power had reached 408.8 while he remained at Foundation Establishment third stage.
  • Ye Fei told Feng An and Lin Mu that he might reach the eighth or ninth stage of Foundation Establishment, but needed time to adjust before advancing.
  • Lin Mu called for Long Heng to break out of his egg, and cracks spread across its shell.
  • Long Heng emerged on Ye Fei's lap, complained that Ye Fei had bullied him, and cried over his human-like baby form.
  • Long Heng noticed his weapons had become bracelets and other rings, and his crying stopped in surprise.

Ch. 477Long Heng: Though my combat power is high, I'm miserable

After Long Heng hatched with 5,000 combat power, he struggled with his childish appearance and learned he would remain a young dragon for a very long time. The Elf Queen sought to study his blood, but Feng An refused, and Long Heng reluctantly admitted his dragon form looked ugly.

  • Ye Fei compared Long Heng’s newly hatched combat power and Divine Cultivation status with his own, while Long Heng blamed his inflated stats on his equipment.
  • Long Heng complained that his armor looked nothing like the imposing gear he had expected, and Ye Fei teased him about staying cute until he grew older.
  • Feng An explained that the Dragon God considered Divine Dragons young for a hundred years, adolescent after a thousand, and eligible for the Adult Trial only after ten thousand.
  • The Elf Queen revealed that she used collected blood to cultivate branches of her Life Tree, and she asked to test Long Heng’s blood; Feng An refused.
  • Ye Fei asked Long Heng to transform into a Divine Dragon, and Long Heng admitted that he disliked his ugly, scaleless dragon form.

Ch. 478The big shots stepped in-the Faction Core Building was almost complete

Long Heng’s evolved dragon form was revealed to be an underdeveloped cub, so he stayed in human form while he grew. Feng An and the others began completing the Player Faction’s Core Building, and Lingyan explained how divine positions could be created.

  • Feng An relayed the Dragon God’s explanation that Long Heng’s missing scales were a normal part of his evolution and needed time to grow in.
  • Long Heng chose to remain in human form, while Lin Mu and Ye Fei called him a premature dragon cub and advised him to cultivate.
  • Feng An turned the group’s attention to activating the nearly completed Player Faction Core Building.
  • The Elf Queen contributed Life Tree branches worth three hundred thousand points of building progress, and Feng An supplied spiritual energy for his share.
  • Ye Fei asked about spiritual energy limits, and Lingyan explained the difference between reaching god-level, receiving a divine position, and wielding divine power.
  • Lingyan said he had considered creating a divine position himself but had set the idea aside, prompting the Elf Queen to warn him against becoming overconfident.

Ch. 479The Faction Core Building needed its settings adjusted

Ye Fei gathered Free and Unrestrained Mountain’s members to configure their Faction Core Building, explaining how their contributed materials would shape its territory. The group discussed their preferred homes and settings, while Long Heng revealed the distant location and vast size of Feng An’s home.

  • Lingyan filled in the remaining progress and energy, then Ye Fei called the others over to adjust the Faction Core Building.
  • Ye Fei explained how the five-element materials, divine dragon and phoenix bones, Life Tree Branches, and God-level Spiritual Energy would affect the territory.
  • Lin Xian nearly compared Long Heng’s appearance to a cartoon protagonist, but Lin Mu covered his mouth before he could finish.
  • Ye Fei switched the virtual template to Projection Mode and asked everyone to choose their homes’ locations and surrounding settings.
  • The Elf Queen chose Grassland around her Life Tree, Lingyan kept his home on the Mountain Peak, and Feng An said his home would be included when the faction territory expanded.
  • Long Heng told Ye Fei that Feng An’s home lay over a hundred li away in a gorge protected by a Strong Wind Formation, covering more than three times the faction’s current territory.

Ch. 480Jianmu, the faction core building completed

Ye Fei and the others finished designing their new territory and deployed the Free and Unrestrained Mountain faction core building. Lingyan named the core Jianmu, and the chapter ended with its level-one effects awaiting activation.

  • Ye Fei invited Jun Mo, Lu Heng, and the others to suggest areas for cultivation, rest, planting, and breeding.
  • Lin Mu proposed placing the planting area near Lin Xian's home, while Jun Mo and Long Heng requested a large seawater area for their aquatic needs.
  • Ye Fei adjusted the simulated territory to include the planting and breeding areas, homes, snowy peak, and a large seawater region, then replaced their territory with the Free and Unrestrained Mountain template.
  • Ye Fei deployed the faction core building and asked what to name it.
  • Lingyan suggested Jianmu, explaining that it was a core building made of wood, and Ye Fei finalized the name.

Ch. 481Permanent effects: what kind of boost was better?

Ye Fei examined Jianmu’s five starting boosts and learned that its permanent cultivation-speed increase would remain useful even when stronger players destroyed ordinary Spirit-Gathering Formations. The chapter left the faction with a new, lasting cultivation boost and Ye Fei with a clearer understanding of its value.

  • Ye Fei inspected Jianmu’s five level-one boosts, including energy, planting, breeding, defense, and fortuitous encounters.
  • The Elf Queen and Feng An explained that five starting boosts were unusually many and that fortuitous encounters were especially rare.
  • Lin Mu imagined finding treasures thanks to the encounter boost, and Long Heng teased him about how percentage increases worked.
  • Ye Fei applied his reward to Jianmu, adding a permanent 20% cultivation-speed increase.
  • Feng An explained that the new boost would not wear out, unlike Spirit-Gathering Formations that stronger players could quickly break.

Ch. 482Feng An: The silly kid had become a heartless capitalist

Ye Fei set up workers to gather stone and build housing while Feng An donated spiritual energy to the faction’s core building. Ye Fei explained that workers could eventually trade their work hours for resources and cultivation, and he planned to wait until the houses were built before recruiting more workers.

  • Ye Fei assigned one worker to gathering and another to construction, setting their living quarters between the planting and breeding areas.
  • Lin Mu, Lin Xian, Lu Heng, and Jun Mo went to help the workers gather stone so construction could begin.
  • Feng An suggested creating a paid-work system for players, and Ye Fei explained that the faction had no Energy Points to pay wages.
  • Feng An donated 1,000,000 spiritual energy, raising the core building’s Energy Points by 100.
  • Ye Fei told Long Heng and the others that paid work restricted workers for four hours and that workers could exchange accumulated work hours for food, cultivation techniques, and other resources.
  • Ye Fei decided to wait until the houses were built before recruiting random workers and using his remaining customizable Worker Card.

Ch. 483Changes in the pets' strength, each one's growth

Ye Fei checked how his spirit pets and divine companions had grown after Qingxue completed her evolution. He teased Long Heng before taking him on the Flying Sword to join Feng An.

  • Ye Fei sent Qingxue and the other little ones out to explore the changed surroundings while Senior Lingyan and the queen returned home, Feng An went to watch the workers, and Long Heng stayed with Ye Fei.
  • Ye Fei checked the pets’ status and found that Qingxue had reached level 5 with a third tail, while Feng Bai and Eclipse Moon had reached level 4 and Phantom Spirit was level 6.
  • Ye Fei noted that Feimeng’s combat power had risen despite staying at level 7, while Fire Dance and Phoenix Perch had also gained combat power without leveling up.
  • Long Heng teased Ye Fei for claiming he had been too busy to take the pets out, and Ye Fei retorted by recalling Long Heng’s former insistence that he was an old man.
  • Ye Fei tossed Long Heng into the air, caught him on the Flying Sword, and flew with him toward Feng An’s cloud.

Ch. 484After players died: putting Soul Origin to use again

Ye Fei explained that the workers building houses were reincarnated players whose memories had been erased and souls reused. Lu Heng and Jun Mo, unsettled by the revelation, left the workers alone while Lin Xian and Lin Mu argued that the workers’ origins made little practical difference.

  • Jun Mo showed Ye Fei the neatly cut stone bricks Lu Heng had prepared, and Ye Fei told the workers they could use them to build their homes.
  • Lu Heng asked why the workers had to carry the bricks themselves, and Ye Fei explained that they had thoughts, feelings, and their own futures.
  • Feng An revealed that the workers were new lifeforms made from the souls of dead players whose memories had been erased.
  • Lu Heng and Jun Mo left, unwilling to interact with workers who might have once been players they knew.
  • Lin Mu and Lin Xian dismissed the brothers’ discomfort and said the workers were simply on a different level from them.

Ch. 485Worker No. 3 with a combat talent: casualties were normal

Ye Fei summoned Worker No. 3, whose combat talent led to a violent clash with the construction worker after she moved into the Stone House. He added an elderly worker with an animal husbandry talent and assigned the workers tasks for the next day before leaving.

  • Ye Fei spent 10 energy to summon Worker No. 3 and assigned her to the Stone House.
  • Worker No. 3 kicked the construction worker into a corner, injuring him for three days, and Ye Fei saw that the worker had gained a resentment tag.
  • Ye Fei explained that injuries and deaths among workers were ordinary costs of running the faction.
  • Ye Fei summoned an elderly worker with an animal husbandry talent and assigned her to the same house.
  • Ye Fei set the workers' schedule and tasks, while Lin Mu said he and Lin Xian would help build the Breeding Area the next day.

Ch. 486Lingyan: I know more than you do

Ye Fei returned home to cultivate after refusing to intervene in the workers’ situation, while Lingyan and the others discussed Worker No. 3’s origins and observed the faction. The Elf Queen discovered a Soul-Locking Vine beneath Jianmu, and Ye Fei began trying to advance his cultivation without letting it progress too far.

  • Ye Fei left Lu Heng and Jun Mo, returned home, and played with the little ones before planning to cultivate.
  • The Elf Queen questioned whether Ye Fei cared about the workers, and Feng An said his lack of interest suited the Player Faction.
  • The queen recognized Worker No. 3’s origin aura, and Lingyan revealed he could perceive more information than before.
  • The Elf Queen found a purple Soul-Locking Vine sprouting beneath Jianmu and decided to watch over it.
  • Ye Fei sent the little ones to cultivate and sat beneath the Phoenix Tree to guide his spiritual energy, struggling to control how far he advanced.

Ch. 487An unexpected event: Thunder Tribulation Body Tempering

Ye Fei stopped his uncontrolled realm advancement by compressing his Lightning Domain, which attracted an unexpected Thunder Tribulation. He used the weak lightning to temper his body through the night, and emerged refreshed after the clouds dispersed at sunrise.

  • Ye Fei advanced to Foundation Establishment sixth stage before an unexpected Thunder Tribulation interrupted his progress.
  • Feng An questioned why a minor realm increase had drawn a tribulation, and Lingyan explained that Ye Fei's mutated Thunder Spiritual Root had called to it.
  • Ye Fei asked Qingxue to wake the sleeping companions, reassured them, and flew into the air as Feng An and the queen came to watch.
  • Ye Fei compressed his Lightning Domain into a sphere, and the descending tribulation lightning merged into it without causing a ripple.
  • Ye Fei directed the lightning into his flesh, sinews, and bones to temper his body until sunrise, when the Tribulation Clouds dispersed.

Ch. 488Foundation Establishment stage six, combat power over five hundred

After reaching Foundation Establishment stage six and surpassing five hundred combat power, Ye Fei considered how to strengthen his body and spoke with Lingyan and Feng An about their plans. He then reunited with Fire Dance and warned the little ones that Jun Mo might come to chop Phoenix Perch again.

  • Ye Fei assessed his increased attributes and realized he still needed more body tempering to balance his physique with his cultivation realm.
  • The Elf Queen left after asking Ye Fei to let a vine near his home grow, while Feng An prepared to go out and keep the region stable.
  • Lingyan reassured Ye Fei about owing favors and said he would be busy strengthening his body; he also told Ye Fei to let Fire Dance come and go freely.
  • Fire Dance rushed to Ye Fei and rubbed against his face, while Phoenix Perch worried that the Little Phoenix was taking advantage of Lingyan's kindness by bringing food home.
  • Ye Fei took Fire Dance to play in the water and told the little ones that Jun Mo might return to chop Phoenix Perch, prompting them to stare at the tree in alarm.

Ch. 489Lin Mu: I could finally talk about it

Lin Mu told Ye Fei that the Lin Family had collapsed in a bloody fight and explained why he had come to Free and Unrestrained Mountain. Ye Fei learned that Lin Mu had identified himself to Yang Cheng as one of their members, but reassured him that it would not cause trouble.

  • Lin Mu asked Ye Fei whether he was suppressing his cultivation, and Ye Fei explained that Lin Mu’s physical strength outstripped his combat awareness.
  • Lin Mu told Ye Fei that his father and most of the Lin Family had died in a fight over a chance to leave, while Lin Che and Lin Mu had acted as gatekeepers.
  • Lin Mu said Lin Che had been injured after trying to attack his two half-sisters, who had left with a man working with Yang Cheng.
  • Ye Fei showed Lin Mu Yang Cheng’s message offering to hand over the two women because they had been taken for their planting potential.
  • Lin Mu worried that telling Yang Cheng he belonged to Free and Unrestrained Mountain might bring trouble, but Ye Fei said it would not.

Ch. 490Lin Mu: I was a good big brother

Lin Mu explained how Huang Yu had trapped him in an Illusion Realm and described the animals that had damaged Lin Xian’s home and garden. Ye Fei decided Lin Xian could be given a role managing Free and Unrestrained Mountain’s wild animals, and Lin Mu immediately asked what benefits came with it.

  • Lin Mu told Ye Fei that Huang Yu had made him endure what felt like three years alone in an Illusion Realm, and Ye Fei reassured him that the powerful senior could control time.
  • Ye Fei asked Lin Mu why Worker No. 4 was becoming devoted to a Demon Lord, and Lin Mu explained that animals had escaped their fence and wrecked Lin Xian’s garden and Medicine Field.
  • Lin Mu said the Tiger King and its cubs were staying peacefully at Lin Xian’s place, where Lin Xian enjoyed keeping them.
  • Ye Fei said he could give Lin Xian a position managing the wild animals on Free and Unrestrained Mountain.
  • Lin Mu eagerly asked what benefits Lin Xian would receive from the position.

Ch. 491Could You Have Just a Little Shame?

Ye Fei explained the available wild-beast management roles to Lin Mu, who hurried off to recruit Lin Xian for one. Ye Fei spent the rest of the day tending his medicinal plants and relaxing with his companions, ending with Feimeng sweet-talking Phoenix Perch out of attacking.

  • Ye Fei explained that Lin Xian could manage newly tamed wild beasts and assign their duties, and Lin Mu eagerly ran off to speak with him.
  • Ye Fei reflected on Lin Mu’s devotion to Lin Xian, then harvested and replanted medicinal herbs in the Backyard.
  • Ye Fei bathed his companions in the Spirit Spring pool while Feng Bai pretended to be dazed and Feimeng teased him for indulging the act.
  • Feimeng accidentally spoke in translated words while criticizing Ye Fei, and Ye Fei replied in a way that left the fox embarrassed.
  • Feimeng jumped into the pool to dodge Phoenix Perch’s fireballs and flattered Phoenix Perch until the attack stopped.

Ch. 492The Artifact Refining Furnace: A newborn Artifact Spirit was fragile

Ye Fei discovered that the Artifact Refining Furnace had formed a fragile artifact spirit while he used it to dismantle Feng An’s mecha into materials. After Lin Mu urged him to check the Alliance Channel, Ye Fei learned that Die Wu had been calling for him and prepared to find out what the Wood Demon Pavilion wanted.

  • Ye Fei decided to refine Feng An’s mecha into materials despite his lack of experience with mechanical theory.
  • Feimeng teased Ye Fei, and he noticed a faint golden light responding to him from the Artifact Refining Furnace.
  • Ye Fei put the mecha into the furnace and supplied it with extra spiritual energy, while its newborn artifact spirit briefly emerged.
  • Fire Dance tried to approach the furnace, but Ye Fei explained that the fragile spirit was frightened and needed time to adjust.
  • Ye Fei tended to the Backyard, rested, and later reminded the furnace not to overexert itself.
  • Lin Mu arrived and told Ye Fei to check the Alliance Channel, where Die Wu had been calling for him; Ye Fei began looking into the Wood Demon Pavilion’s request.

Ch. 493Die Wu: A God-level Beauty Wants to Help You Raise Your Little Ones

Ye Fei rejected a marriage proposal from a God-level Human Race cultivator who had never met him, prompting her to leave the Wood Demon Pavilion. Die Wu warned Ye Fei that the woman had designs on Free and Unrestrained Mountain and might approach him through another faction.

  • Die Wu repeatedly called for Ye Fei in the Alliance Chat Channel and asked how he would respond to a marriage proposal from a Human Race girl he had never met.
  • Ye Fei said he was too busy raising nine little ones to marry anyone, while Lin Mu argued with him over being counted among them.
  • Die Wu explained that the prospective bride was God-level, attractive, and willing to help raise the little ones, but Ye Fei immediately rejected her.
  • The woman left the Wood Demon Pavilion after Ye Fei turned her down, reducing its membership to eight, and Ye Fei congratulated Die Wu on the faction's improved average ranking.
  • Die Wu warned Ye Fei that the woman had never used her full strength and might use another Player Faction on Snow Mountain to approach Free and Unrestrained Mountain.

Ch. 494The Wood Demon Pavilion seemed to be up to something

Ye Fei and Lin Mu speculated that a woman from the Wood Demon Pavilion was using a marriage proposal as a pretext to leave the faction, and the Elf Queen confirmed it was a scheme involving Blue Feather. Ye Fei then took Lin Mu to inspect the Breeding Area, where the workers were building pens and tending to the animals.

  • Ye Fei argued that the woman’s proposal targeted him because he was the only adult human who fit her stated preferences, while Lin Mu insisted Ye Fei should be wary.
  • Ye Fei suspected the woman was trying to leave the Wood Demon Pavilion and privately asked the Elf Queen whether God-level players faced restrictions when leaving a faction.
  • The Elf Queen told Ye Fei that Blue Feather and the woman were staging a scheme and assured him she was watching over the situation.
  • Lin Mu laughed when Ye Fei revealed that the Elf Queen had called him a child, so Ye Fei dragged him outside and then took him to inspect the Breeding Area.
  • Jun Mo described the new animal pens and pigeon shelter, while Ye Fei checked the workers’ progress and noticed the injured construction worker’s worries about his future.

Ch. 495Workers Need Names Too-Her Name Is Mo Shu

Worker No. 3 asked Ye Fei for a name and the ability to write, becoming Mo Shu and taking responsibility for recording the other workers. Meanwhile, Jun Mo and Ye Fei discussed Mo Shu’s duties and the need to develop their workers, leaving Ye Fei planning to add two more when he had enough energy.

  • Worker No. 3 knelt before Ye Fei and asked to have a name and an identity of her own.
  • Ye Fei gave her a Worker Register, brush, and ink, named her Mo Shu, and bought writing lessons for her.
  • Mo Shu entered her own name and then recorded names and details for the other three workers, discovering that she could summon the register and writing tools when needed.
  • Jun Mo asked Ye Fei why Mo Shu had named the worker she intended to kill, and Ye Fei explained that she was doing her assigned job regardless of her plans.
  • Ye Fei decided to add two more workers once he had saved enough energy and urged Jun Mo to keep cultivating.

Ch. 496Half a month later, Senior had grown lazy

Half a month after refining a human body, Lingyan appeared in a languid state while waiting for more materials, surprising Ye Fei and the Elf Queen. Ye Fei accepted the change in Lingyan’s demeanor and teased him about his low Combat Power, while the Elf Queen reflected on the different souls of people she knew.

  • Lingyan checked the workers and buildings beneath Jianmu, and the Elf Queen asked whether he planned to keep his current form.
  • Lingyan said he was missing materials and was enjoying the experience of laziness, then followed the Elf Queen to Ye Fei’s home.
  • Ye Fei was startled by Lingyan’s changed demeanor, but accepted that people could change; Fire Dance protected Ye Fei from Lingyan’s teasing.
  • Ye Fei asked why Lingyan’s Combat Power remained at 2, and Lingyan said he had not bothered to adjust it.
  • The Elf Queen recalled Lin Xian, Lin Mu, Jun Mo, Lu Heng, and Long Heng, and considered Ye Fei’s soul state her favorite.

Ch. 497Refining flying swords and plans for faction development

Ye Fei used rare metals and Life Tree branches to begin refining Flying Swords while discussing the Artifact Refining Furnace’s young spirit and the Player Faction’s development with Lingyan and the Elf Queen. He planned to keep the population steady and spend faction energy on a Martial Arts Hall to strengthen workers.

  • The Elf Queen gave Ye Fei Life Tree branches to supplement his metals, and he began refining Flying Swords for Jun Mo, Lu Heng, Lin Mu, and Lingyan, expecting them to be ready in three days.
  • Lingyan noticed the Artifact Refining Furnace had developed an artifact spirit, and Ye Fei said he would raise the shy spirit until it was ready to meet everyone.
  • The Elf Queen asked Ye Fei about the faction’s next steps, and he said he would keep the population steady and open a Martial Arts Hall once the faction had enough energy.
  • Ye Fei explained that the workers needed better fighting strength and described how the Canteen and Crop Processing Workshop had improved their food, while theft and fights still caused disorder.

Ch. 498Little Butterfly Prepared to Move to Snow Mountain

Ye Fei learned why Wood Demon Pavilion had arranged for Die Wu to move to Snow Mountain and asked how factions relocated. Lingyan explained the process, while Free and Unrestrained Mountain remained unable to move for now.

  • Lingyan agreed that Enforcers could help the workers, and the Elf Queen urged him to reach level 2 before Little Butterfly outpaced Wood Demon Pavilion.
  • Ye Fei noticed Wood Demon Pavilion had returned to nine players and asked why Die Wu had used a romantic excuse to move regions.
  • The Elf Queen explained that God-level Players faced rules for changing regions, including a hundred-day interval, while romantic reasons were widely accepted for Human Race players.
  • Ye Fei wondered how Wood Demon Pavilion would relocate its Sphere of Influence, but could not find a way to move Free and Unrestrained Mountain.
  • Lingyan explained that relocation required destroying the faction core building and establishing it elsewhere, and that the move also had a hundred-day interval.

Ch. 499Did the Wind God Get a Hundred Thousand Players Killed?

Ye Fei learned that the Wind God had sparked a deadly conflict among three player factions over a naturally protected Cultivation Sacred Land. After Lingyan went to investigate the fighting, the Elf Queen worried that he might threaten her life tree, while Ye Fei confirmed that he likely could destroy it.

  • Lingyan told Ye Fei that the Wood Demon Pavilion could pay to receive Free and Unrestrained Mountain's alliance benefits as guests.
  • Lingyan revealed that the Wind God had advised a player at a Cultivation Sacred Land, and three factions had since fought so fiercely that more than a hundred thousand players had died.
  • Ye Fei recognized the sacred land as the lake island where a lucky Human Race player lived and cultivated.
  • The Elf Queen said the factions' leaders seemed to be sending ordinary players to die and wondered whether they had found a way to break the formation.
  • Lingyan handed Fire Dance to Ye Fei and vanished to investigate the battle, leaving Ye Fei and the Elf Queen wondering whether he might destroy her life tree.

Ch. 500Today's visitors: the blind youth and the butterfly girl

Ye Fei brought the blind player Li Yue inside after finding him surrounded by tigers, while Feng An and the Elf Queen explained the aftermath of the fighting and frightened him further. Lingyan then returned with the injured Die Wu and handed her to the Queen.

  • Feng An told Ye Fei that Li Yue was waiting outside and left it to Ye Fei whether to let him in.
  • Ye Fei found Li Yue pinned beneath the tigers, sent the beasts away, and carried the terrified tier 9 player home.
  • Li Yue introduced himself and explained that the fighting near his island had frightened and overwhelmed him.
  • The Elf Queen told Li Yue that most of the people he had encountered were nonhuman, leaving him shocked.
  • Lingyan brought the injured Die Wu through the gate and handed her to the Queen.
