Kuro no Suke stared at his shoulder in horror. Then he slowly looked up and saw Aizen's sword thrust beneath Aizen's own arm, its tip buried in his shoulder.
"Impossible! You can't see anymore. How did you pinpoint my position so precisely?" Kuro no Suke immediately retreated, clutching his shoulder.
Aizen turned to him with a broad smile. "Aren't you being a little arrogant? The Great Spirit Library Corridor has a record of your Zanpakuto's ability. Did you think I'd come looking for you without taking precautions?"
Aizen raised a finger and tapped his eyeball. It made the sound of something striking a hard surface.
"These are called contact lenses. My teacher invented them. Apparently, some female Soul Reapers thought glasses would spoil their looks, so that Old Man came up with these. A pair of ordinary contact lenses, treated with a little Kidō, can completely counter your Zanpakuto's ability." Aizen regarded Kuro no Suke mildly. "I put on quite a performance to convince you I'd gone blind. What do you think? Wasn't it perfect?"
The muscles in Kuro no Suke's face twitched until he finally bared his teeth in a savage grin. "So what if you saw through my ability? I'm the Fifth Division's 6th Seated Officer. I could beat an ordinary squad member like you with one hand!"
He rushed forward at tremendous speed, intent on settling the fight with swordsmanship.
Steel rang through the forest at night. The two Soul Reapers traded blows, neither able to gain the upper hand.
Kuro no Suke's expression darkened. Why was an ordinary Soul Reaper's Reiatsu nearly as strong as his?
Worse, Aizen was the better swordsman. Even if he was the Chief Strategist's disciple, no one should have that much talent!
Their figures flashed past each other, and both blades
