In an instant, flames from the explosion engulfed all of Hell. The heat was so intense that souls and matter alike evaporated on the spot, and Hell began regenerating.
After the explosion, Yamabuki Chidori made a show of wiping cold sweat from his brow. Inside his Blut Vene Anhaben, he was completely unharmed.
"Not bad. Really not bad! Aside from me, I doubt anyone in Soul Society could withstand an attack like that. But it's still not enough!" Yamabuki Chidori said with disappointment. "If that's all the potential you have, you've let your teacher down!"
Aizen Lost His Cool Again
Aizen's expression turned grave when he heard his teacher. Even now, he still couldn't sense the limits of his teacher's Reiatsu. In other words, his evolution had done little to close the gap between them.
"Now I'll have to get just a tiny bit serious. Try not to let me kill you!" Before Yamabuki Chidori had finished speaking, he appeared behind Aizen.
Aizen sensed him at once and slashed back, but his blade cut through empty air.
"Aizen. Remember what I told you? A battle between Soul Reapers is a battle of Reiatsu. It doesn't matter how many fancy tricks your opponent has. If your Reiatsu is strong enough, you can smash right through them," Yamabuki Chidori said.
Reiatsu and rule-based abilities were like stats and mechanics in a game.
Enemies with nasty mechanics were a pain, sure. But against someone with overwhelming stats, all those fancy tricks meant nothing. One slash, and it was over.
A truly formidable fighter had absurd stats and infuriating mechanics.
That's right. Your teacher, yours truly.
Yamabuki Chidori brought his sword down. It was an ordinary slash, with no other effects attached.
Yet Aizen found he couldn't block it, no matter what he did.
