Ichigo's heart lurched. He spun around and saw Yamabuki Chidori standing behind him with a cheerful smile.
"Mr. Yamabuki... Why did you...?"
The original plan had been for Rukia to stab Ichigo, but now that he had awakened Blut Vene, she could no longer pierce his defenses. Yamabuki Chidori had to do it himself.
Ichigo stared at Yamabuki Chidori in disbelief. The old man could be unreliable, but Ichigo had always considered him an ally. So why was he...?
Ginjo Kugo chose that moment to twist the knife. "Boss! You finally showed up."
A flawless way to shift the blame.
The question in Ichigo's eyes turned to shock. Yamabuki Chidori had been behind everything.
Being betrayed by someone he considered a friend hurt more than Ichigo could bear.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I was forced to do this." Yamabuki Chidori looked utterly distressed, then turned to Isshin Kurosaki. "Isshin, I did everything you asked. Whatever happens next has nothing to do with me."
Ichigo watched his own father emerge with a helpless look on his face. His mind went blank.
What the hell was going on? Could somebody explain this to me?
"Idiot! Can't you feel how the Reiatsu inside you has changed?" Isshin looked at his son helplessly.
Only after his father pointed it out did Ichigo sense the Reiatsu inside him rising rapidly!
His Soul Reaper powers were awakening.
Attack on Hueco Mundo
Quincy, Soul Reaper, and Fullbring powers fused perfectly within Ichigo. He could clearly feel his strength reaching a new level.
But with everything happening so fast, he couldn't tell friend from foe. If Yamabuki Chidori was an enemy, why had he helped Ichigo grow stronger? And why was his father standing with him?
Should I even keep fighting? Ichigo eyed everyone present warily.
