But Hive was a mass of insects, and physical attacks were almost useless against him. This was not the MCU version of Hive, the one who could Kick the Bucket from a casual hit.

Diversion was one of the simplest tactics. Combined with something that blocked the senses, like a Flashbang, even an experienced enemy would panic for a brief moment.

When a person lost one of their five senses, even knowing it was only temporary, the brain would suffer a momentary blank due to losing one-fifth of its usual information.

That fraction of a second was enough for Deathstroke. Hive, being a collective of insects, was not blinded by the flash, but he was slower than Su Ming and could not save Viper in time.
