"Alright, you can stay on Earth and recuperate for a while. With your limbs in their current condition, experiencing a starship jump would be far too painful." Su Ming stubbed out his cigarette, stood up, and patted his pants. "Magic can't send you back either. Sparta is too far away, and the cost would be too great. The Bifrost doesn't connect there, either."
The sounds of insects at night drifted from the nearby woods, carrying a faint chill and making the place seem especially desolate.
"Then can I experience the life of an ordinary Earthling? I mean, meet more ordinary people and learn how Earthlings who aren't as powerful as you live."
Jason thought for a moment before making a request.
"That's easy." Su Ming pulled several hundred dollars in cash from his waist pouch and placed them on Jason's chest. "This is the currency of the country you're currently in. Just lie here and wait for some Americans who love a spectacle to come rescue you. Did you bring any weapons?"
Jason looked toward his belt. "I brought my gun and sword, but my hands..."
"Then that's fine. I hope you enjoy your recovery on Earth. I'll let your family know about your injuries and the trade arrangements. Bye." Su Ming gave a mischievous grin as his mask flowed over his face, then shot into the sky and vanished.
Strangle sensed someone approaching. The faint tremor on the road indicated a vehicle, and there was a light scent of perfume in the air. The newcomer was a woman.
With Jason's face, he wouldn't die at a woman's hands. Su Ming left without a worry.
"Hey! Is Earth's public safety really this good? And what did you mean by asking whether I had weapons?! Don't leave me here alone! Hey!"
