Near dawn, Doctor Pym, whom they were protecting, was targeted in an extremely long-range sniper assassination. While Pym and Janet were fast asleep, a bullet pierced the glass of their home and struck the headboard between them.
The noise and flying splinters woke Ant-Man and Wasp, as well as Steve and Bucky on the rooftop across the street.
But they could only feel relieved. The shot had not hit either of their protectees. Perhaps the enemy more than a kilometer away had misjudged the wind, or perhaps the glass had deflected the bullet. At least they still had a chance.
Steve immediately leaped across the street and reached Doctor Pym's window, shield raised toward the direction the bullet had come from.
Bucky, meanwhile, went after the shooter. There was little hope, but it would be good if he could find any clues.
Still half-asleep, Pym jumped up and pulled on his clothes. Though he had been jolted awake from a dream, the sight of the man standing in the yard outside immediately reassured him.
