There was only dim lighting and crude equipment, yet the Split Programs had overcome every difficulty and created a Brainiac—a program-management collective existing in reality, an intelligent humanoid AI.
The hive-like network structure determined that all Split Programs existed around a central point. Now, within the Spectre Universe, that central point was Brainiac 21.
They simply had not had the conditions before. Out in the wilderness, those Split Programs could not build robots from nothing.
But now Steel Star had the necessary hardware, and Deathstroke had lent a little help. After the mind-controlled individuals formed their network, they left their berserk state. Who knew which preset command had been triggered, but these things had assembled a new generation of control core.
If Luthor's Legion of Doom could rebuild Brainiac 1, then Su Ming's side could create a new Brainiac as well.
Honestly, he did not know why its number was 21. The Brainiacs he knew of had only gone up to 13. But it did not matter. The Spectre Universe was currently disconnected from the outside world's networks, so there was no possibility of data sharing between this Brainiac and the one in the Legion of Doom outside.
Every Brainiac was a different entity, and a few of them had been good people, such as Brainiac 3, Brainiac 5, and Brainiac 8. The eighth generation had even been an unofficial member of the Titans, codenamed Indigo—a blue-skinned girl with short hair.
As for the rather crude-looking Brainiac before him, her attitude seemed acceptable for now. At the very least, she had not tried to control humans on sight.
