Donna snarled at Raven. She had felt like she was about to kill Zsasz, only for the ground to suddenly vanish beneath her feet and for the two of them to end up in a suburban forest dozens of kilometers away.
Raven shook her head. The frequent spellcasting had made her somewhat more talkative. "We can't kill him. He's Batwoman's criminal, like an action figure displayed in Arkham. Do you know what happens when you break a man's toy? He'll hate you for the rest of his life. I once broke one of Beast Boy's game consoles, and he ignored me for a month. Every day, he just held the wreckage of it and cried. Trust me, you definitely don't want Batwoman holding a grudge against you."
Donna was briefly speechless. Of course she knew. All the villains in Gotham City could only be dealt with by the Bat-Family. The fact that the two of them had even come here to fight them was already against the rules.
When Batwoman joined the Justice League, she had made her terms clear. She could help anyone deal with a crisis, but Justice League members were not allowed to interfere in Gotham affairs without her permission. Otherwise, she would stop playing with the Justice League.
She had a paranoid sort of love for Gotham.
Donna thought it over, but still argued her case. "But the current Batwoman is a lunatic. Thomas isn't the same as Bruce."
Seeing that Donna was still struggling, Raven complained again. "Do you think anyone in that family was ever sane?"
Rain fell onto their shoulders, pattering against Donna's shield as crisp metallic rings echoed without end.
Donna was somewhat at a loss for words. It really was true. All she could do was admit,
