Bobo froze. He covered his mouth, struggling to breathe through the gaps between his fingers.
Like a wounded young beast, he let out a helpless whimper and crouched on the ground, curling into a ball.
Blue Devil had been a member of the Shadowpact, a friend of Master Night Jim, and naturally an old friend of Bobo's as well.
Back at the Oblivion Bar, many mages had been burned into roasted meat and charcoal, yet Bobo had shown no emotional reaction. But this time, the one who had died was a true friend—and in a sense, Bobo had gotten him killed. At last, he could no longer bear the blow.

The ape burst into loud sobs. He had held back his tears even after Jim died, but now he finally lost control.
"Harley." Su Ming held out a hand to the woman, took the Godslayer shovel, then picked up the ape and handed him to her. "Watch him. Don't let him bite his tongue."

Harley rummaged through her jacket pocket, pulled out a red plastic ball gag, stuffed it into Bobo's mouth, and tied its black leather strap behind his head.
Her hands moved so quickly that they left behind two small cyclone-like afterimages. Barry stared at her in astonishment. If she were a Speed Force user, she probably would have whipped up an actual storm.
"Mmph? Mmph mmph mmph!!!"
Bobo looked utterly bewildered. Once he came back to his senses, he looked even more miserable and tried to struggle.
