These black tentacles had a highly unusual nature. Once ensnared by them, the three lost nearly all their abilities in an instant and could only be dragged like puppets toward the throne.
"Luthor! Save me!" Sinestro was dragged to the ground, clawing at the tentacles wrapped around his neck as he cried for help.
"You owe us! We served you! Ah!!!" The gorilla was no exception. Though his physical strength was immense, he was no match for Perpetua and was violently dragged away.
Luthor panicked a little. Standing there, he had no idea how to react and could only stare at his friends' faces.
"No, there has to be a reason for this."
"Luthor! Cough, cough... please!"
Sinestro set aside his pride and had no choice but to ask Luthor for help. After all, everyone was bound except Luthor.
"There has to be... No! She'll reward us!" Yet the smartest bald man on Earth was now utterly lost, able only to deny everything before his eyes. "Listen to me, Cheetah!"
He suddenly reaffirmed his faith and reached out, trying to grab Cheetah as she was dragged away before him. Her sharp claws gouged several deep marks into the metal floor.
But Cheetah was dragged away too quickly, and Luthor's hesitant movement failed to catch her hand. He could only hear her final curse.
"Curse you, Luthor! You'll go to Hell!"
As soon as Cheetah finished speaking, the tentacles stuffed all three of them into the coffins beneath the throne. They immediately seemed to fall asleep, lying utterly still.
Perpetua smiled in satisfaction and activated the throne to extract the three of their abilities. Then she pointed at Luthor, and a bolt of golden lightning struck the top of his head, pouring all those powers into Luthor's new body.
