Harry had a strange dream. He found himself in an odd space, surrounded by darkness, yet he could see his hands and feet clearly. At the same time, his body felt weightless.

Suddenly, a light appeared ahead of him, and The Serpent emerged! Its scales glittered in the light, and its agate-like eyes were fixed on Potter.

Harry was a little nervous. A python that large could certainly swallow him whole, but The Serpent merely glanced at him before producing a metal-ring puzzle toy from behind itself and playing with it using its mouth and tail.

It was the sort of puzzle where you had to separate a strangely shaped steel ring from several other rings without using brute force. Harry understood it after watching for only a moment, and his fear of snakes gradually faded as well.

He remembered talking to a python at the zoo before school started and terrifying his aunt and uncle's family. Only after enrolling did he learn that it was called magical awakening, an uncontrollable manifestation of magic without a wand. Every young wizard went through a similar stage.

For example, when Ron was little, he had changed the colors of the toys around him, making him think he knew some kind of "Color-Changing Charm."

Neville, on the other hand, had failed to awaken for so long that his grandfather had thrown him out of an attic window, claiming it would stimulate his potential in a life-or-death situation.

It had indeed worked. Neville had bounced off the ground like a rubber ball without a scratch. His grandfather had wept with joy and bought him a toad.

Harry had also heard Professor Flitwick talk about a genius in his house. That first-year girl's magical awakening had resembled a Levitation Charm and a Summoning Charm. One
