Perhaps, to outsiders, every event in the competition seemed quite thrilling, and many of the methods used in its arrangements were things wizards had never considered before.

For example, the second event sent all the contestants to the center of the Forbidden Forest via Key to the Door. They had to split up through the forest, defeat the various harmful Magical Creatures that had recently been released there, collect a pair of scrolls marked "Heaven" and "Earth" from them, and bring them back to the finish line outside the castle.

Of course, stealing someone else's scrolls was also allowed. The judges only scored contestants based on how quickly they returned.

Electrical appliances could be used in places near Hogwarts but far from the castle, such as Hogsmeade Village. Su Ming had installed several cameras in the Forbidden Forest, then set up giant screens in the spectator stands several miles away, displaying everything that happened in the woods during the competition.
