Wade knew what he was dealing with. This rich kid was all useless muscle, the kind built up in a gym.
Claiming he was brave and battle-hardened was probably another symptom of Delusional Disorder. He really thought he was Thor, the God of Thunder from myth.
Someone like that would struggle even as a sparring partner at a boxing gym. Thirty dollars an hour was not easy money, and he would probably get beaten to death.
So the only other advantage Thor had left to exploit was his fairly decent looks.
Where were they? Miami in the summer. Here, being handsome and having a good body really could get you anything.
So after eating, the Mercenary took the God of Thunder wandering along the beach, searching for targets. He kept glancing toward the docks as though looking for something.
"What are you looking for?"
Though it was noon, Thor had eaten eight roasted corn cobs for breakfast and downed two large cups of cola. His stomach felt bloated now, and he had slowed down considerably.
The warm, salty sea breeze made him drowsy.
"People throwing summer parties. They can offer us the generous rewards we need." Wade took out his cartoon binoculars again, turning his head from side to side. "Didn't I stock up after lunch? I might as well do a little business while I'm at it."
"You mean that bag of leaves you bought from someone in an alley after lunch?" Thor did not understand. He could not see what value leaves had at all.
"Glory is an illusion, and these leaves can provide it too. You really don't understand anything." Wade shook his head and continued peering through the binoculars. "Stop asking questions. Just watch and learn!"
And sure enough, he really found one.
